The Atoms are feeling even better. We put up the most points in the league, we extended our winning streak to 04, we moved to #01 in the overall standings, and most importantly, we beat the Bison for the first time in the modern era. We'll take that success on the road to Chicago, where the Pros have been struggling for most of the year, but every win is important to stay ahead of the plethora of contenders in the NL. Luckily, we have guys like 3B José Miranda, who is hotter than the Las Vegas sun right now, as his week included a record-setting 12 consecutive at bats with a hit. He also scored 07 times and drove in 06. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

I haven't seen standings on here this season. I think this is an interesting league and I like to follow. I may consider joining at some point.

The Thunderbirds did not miss a week, the owner (me) was on vacation during that week and was unable to post. For posterity's sake, here is week 14:
It looked like the Thunderbirds would have taken their first loss in weeks, but our offense just kept hitting the gas to narrowly beat the Gemini and extended our winning streak to 6 games and reached double-digit wins. And on top of that, the Bison were defeated by the Atoms, meaning the gap between us and them is now just a game away. We can't take our foot off the gas just yet, as we have another tough test as we hit the road to face the Deacons in Dertoit. Leading the way offensively last week was C Will Smith (not to be confused with RP Will Smith, who is no longer with the Thunderbirds), who hit 4 HR's (including 3 in a game), 5 RBI's, 8 runs, and a double as the keystone of our hitting unit last week. #ThunderstruckWe easily manhandled the Condors to get our revenge for their win earlier in the year and to bring us closer to the top of the AL. While the AL-leading Bison take on the NL-leading Atoms, we stay at home to face the Minnesota Gemini, who are trying to pick up some steam to stay in the AL playoff race. Featured for this week is 3B Austin Riley, who has started to pick up his pace to the tune of 2 HR's, 4 walks, and 4 runs to help our offense.

Following a disappointing loss on the road to the Atoms (why is it we only lose when our opponent is the highest scoring team in the league?), we head off to Raleigh, North Carolina to take on the Griffins. The Griffins have been struggling to this point this season, but we're not going to take it easy on them. We're getting star hitter Kyle Schwarber back from his injury, and we're featuring longtime Bison catcher, Willson Contreras this week, who paced the team last week with 8 total hits from 3 singles, 2 doubles, and 3 home runs. He had 4 runs himself while driving in 8. He also tacked on 5 walks, a stolen base, and got hit by a pitch as well! #WeAreOK

Holy cow you guys, we made it to the All-Star Break in beautiful San Diego, California! Here's who made the team! You have starters, you have backups, and all that!
15 of the 16 teams have at least one All-Star, and all 15 teams that have an All-Star have a starter!

Who won the All-Star Game? Who cares? It's back to real baseball that actually matters, baby! The Atoms hit the road yet again to visit the New York Blackbirds for, shockingly enough, the first time this year. While we've built up a 2.5 game lead on the rest of the NL, the Blackbirds are embroiled in a five-team battle for the final three playoff spots, with no fewer than four other teams within half a game of them. That obviously makes this game really important for them, so the pressure will be on. Modeling the standard roadies for this one is 3B/OF Matt Vierling, who hasn't failed to reach base in a game since Independence Day, and doubled thrice and homered once to drive in 06 runs against Chicago. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

The All-Star break was fun. I don't know who won, but I hope everyone had fun. We came into the All-Star break off a win over the Carolina Griffins, and maintain our one game lead on the Arizona Thunderbirds for the top spot in the AL. We'll need to bring our top games with us to Oakland, as they're in second place in the NL and looking to catch up to the Atoms. We'll be in the standard road khakis this week, and are featuring our All-Star relief pitcher, Kirby Yates. Over 34 Games Played this season, Kirby is at 3-1 with 16 saves, 2 holds, only 4 earned runs allowed, 46 strikeouts, and a very impressive 1.05 ERA. #WeAreOK

The All-Star break is behind us now, as we coasted to a win over the Deacons to maintain the 1 game gap between us and the Bison in the AL. We'll continue on our holiday as we travel down to the southernmost point in the league to take on the Havana Cubans. They've been on a skid since starting the season 3-0 (partially thanks to us handing them their first loss of the year), and looking to turn things around with possible revenge. Featured this week is one of our many all-stars, relief pitcher Griffin Jax, who has accumulated 7 saves, 15 holds, and a 1.91 ERA in 42.1 innings pitched. #Thunderstruck

The Atoms came out of the All-Star break hot, beating the brakes off the Blackbirds and expanding their lead over the rest of the NL to 03 games. And after spending 05 of our last 06 weeks away from the great State of Nevada, we get a couple games at home against a couple more bird teams. This week, it's the Los Angeles Condors, who like their avian brethren in New York, are fighting for a playoff spot over there in the A.L. L.A. will have to face the pitching of SP/RP Hunter Gaddis, who was lights out in his 04 2/3 innings, allowing no earned runs and earning 04 holds and a win. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Coming out of the All-Star Break, the Bison were swinging some hot bats, as we broke the single game scoring record with a huge score. But that doesn't mean we're going to slow down. We're going to head back to Bricktown and welcome in the Detroit Deacons. Things haven't gone as expected for the Deacons this season, but we're not going to look past them. We're going to be in the standard home uniforms this week, and are featuring Starting Pitcher Brady Singer. Brady had a phenomenal week against the Squirrels, with 14 innings pitched, striking out 12, not allowing an earned run, and notching a pair of quality starts and wins. #WeAreOK
