Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

We pick up a game we had to really come through big at the end of to put the Pandas away, and move to 2-0 on the young season. Things don't get easier, as we head to Phoenix to take on the Thunderbirds. Things haven't started the way the T-Birds were hoping, and now they look to nab that first win of the season. We're going to be in the standard khaki road set, as we feature starting pitcher Zac Gallen, who last week had 11 innings pitched, 17 strikeouts, a quality start and a win, while only allowing 3 earned runs. #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

After two rough patches to start the year, we're heading back home to host the Bison and potentially nab our first win of the season. The Bison will always be a challenge, so we will need all hands on deck to take them down (that includes our starting pitching). Featured for this week is SS Elly de la Cruz, who lead the team with 4 HR's last week (included an inside-the-parker), and also had 7 RBI's and a stolen base. We'll be in the alternate teals to begin our homestand. #Thunderstruck

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

After a disappointing loss on the road where we were the second highest scoring team, we have no time to rest, as we head back home to take on the Los Angeles Condors. The Condors have the highest scoring player in the league, so we're looking to our pitching to negate Mookie Betts. This week we're at home and will be in the home creams. Our featured player for the week is outfielder Anthony Santander, who last week had eight hits, four runs, four doubles, a triple, a home run, and four RBIs. #TonyTaters #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

The Atoms got out to a hot start, then cooled off towards the end of the week and nearly allowed the Pandas to steal the win, but ultimately, we leave San Diego as one of just five remaining 03-00 teams. Now, we head to Kansas City to play the middle game of a three-game road trip. The Colts, like the Atoms, started the week hot before cooling off, and they ultimately did lose a close game against New York, so they'll be hungry to get back on the right foot. Unfortunately for them, they'll have to go up against SP Joe Musgrove, who hurled 13 innings, striking out as many batters (06) as he gave up earned runs, while earning two quality starts and two wins (look, Tyler Glasnow did it first, ask the Bison). #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

After a white-hot start the Thunderbirds managed to keep enough distance from the Bison to get our first win of the season. We stay at home for a series against the Cubans, who are one of the few undefeated teams remaining. We'll be relying on the goods parts of our pitching staff to get us through the week, including featured player Sonny Gray, who pitched for 12.1 innings last week, striking out 18 and only allowing 2 earned runs on his way to 2 quality starts and a win. We'll be in the typical home whites for this time around as we attempt to get over .500. #Thunderstruck

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

Giving a heads up that I'm offering Luis Robert Jr up in a trade. He is injured and not expected to return until May 23rd but when healthy is an excellent hitter. He's not a cheap guy but we don't have to worry about the salary cap until next off-season. 4 months of a very good hitter could help a team needing an offensive jolt. Wont cut him for nothing but won't be too picky about a return either

(Edit:  The trade has been completed, with Luis going to Las Vegas in exchange for 1B Yandy Diaz)

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

The Atoms beat the Colts to become one of just two 04-00 teams remaining on the season. To finish out our 3-game road trip, we head out to Boston to finish out the season series against the Masons. Coincidentally, Boston is coming off a loss to New York, the other undefeated team, and they'll be hungry to get their season back on track after a 01-03 start. Luckily, the Atoms can turn to SP Tarik Skubal, who hurled 13 innings against KC, striking out 15 while only allowing a single earned run, and earning 02 quality starts and 02 wins in the process. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Re: AltLB - 2024 Season

A big win over the Condors moves us back into a tie for the top spot in the AL. This week, we're staying in OKC and hosting the Thunderbirds. We had a good game when we played them last time, but they had a better one. We're hoping for a different outcome this time, as we break out the cream jerseys again. Our featured player is reliever Yennier Cano, who pitched 5 innings, struck out 5, and picked up 4 holds. #WeAreOK
