Re: The AltHL Season 2023

I'm getting a strange sense of déjà vu, and I don't think it's from Albuquerque Invaders Spiritual Advisor Olivia Rodrigo. For the second time in five games, the Wildcats took a late lead into the Battle of Alberta only to blow it in the final third. We've fallen to 1-4, but it's far too early to call a wrap on our season, and for the first time this season, we won't have to travel across the country between games, as we stay in Edmonton to face the Portland Sawblades. Hopefully the lack of jet lag will help us get back on track, but we really need to change things up, so we're also breaking out our yellow alternates. The name on the back is that of C Joel Eriksson Ek, who scored two goals and an assist, and contributed on defence with five hits and four blocks.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

We are officially down to the final four. This week, we sadly have to say goodbye to IDM. You picked well most weeks, but sadly not this week. Thanks for playing!

For the final four, PICK HERE! This closes by Thursday at noon, because we have a 1pm game scheduled on Thursday.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Another week, another loss, as the 48ers drop one to the Racers. We look to bounce back as we welcome the Sawblades to Manpower Arena. They are good, we haven't been good, so we're hoping that the ice surface messes with them on this one. We are going to be in the standard home ivory uniforms for this one as we look to climb back into contention. Our featured player this week is last week's top scorer on the team, Eeli Torvanen! #MilwaukeesFinest

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Another week, another loss, but at least this time, we felt like we put a good game together, we just happened to be facing a really good team. The Wildcats now close out our homestand the same way we opened it: by playing a Canadian Division rival for the second time this season. This time, it's the Ottawa Guardians, who shared our record of 1-2 last time we faced them, and have since opened up a 2-game lead. Hopefully, we can give the city of Edmonton something to smile about, just like this week's featured player, D Brenden Dillon! He's definitely smiling in that image, and it's definitely because of his 2 assists, 7 hits, and 6 blocks against the Blades.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

We have our top 3. This week came down to a three way tiebreaker. 154 was the magic number. I guessed 152, Darknes guessed 156, and Kingsfan guessed 170. Therefore, we sadly have to say goodbye to Kingsfan this week. Thanks for playing!

For the final three, PICK HERE!The poll closes Thursday night.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

The 48ers went on the road, played some roller hockey, and came away with a win in Portland over the Sawblades. Following that win, we look to start our first winning streak of the season, as we welcome the Winnipeg Arrows to Manpower Arena. We got some solid productions from a few players, including this week's featured player, Kaiden Guhle. We're going to be in the standard home set for this one, wearing the brown uniforms. #MilwaukeesFinest

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

The Wildcats managed to finish off our homestand with a win over Ottawa, bringing us to 2-5 on the season. Now, all we need to do is figure out how to do that more often. First up is another tough test, as we head out to Québec to face off with the Owls, whose record is a perfect mirror of our own. Narrowly earning the first star as our top scorer last week is winger Trevor Moore, who scored 4 goals and 2 assists, finishing with a +3 against the Guardians. He'll pioneer (this is a clever reference to our minor league team) a brand new look for the Cats, as we pair our alternate "hard hat" yellow buckets with our road sweaters for a cutthroat (this is a clever reference to our other minor league team) matchup.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Well here we are, the finals of AltHL knockout. This past week, Dire fell just short of the goal line, so we have to say goodbye to you right before the finals. Thanks for playing!

Darknes and I will pick here! It closes Wednesday at midnight!

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Things have been going well for the Wildcats, and all of a sudden, we're on a 2-game winning streak. Edmonton went into Québec and won in a shootout (not the hockey kind of shootout, just the metaphorical kind where both teams score a lot) to improve to 3-5. It's not where we want to be, but it could be a whole lot worse. We'll look to keep that momentum going as we return home for our second of two games against division rival Halifax. That still doesn't sound right. Anyway, we're back to the standard all-blue as we take on the Fishers, and leading the charge is D-man Brandon Carlo, who was an absolute menace on defence with 12 hits and 9 blocks.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Well then, that's another loss, as the 48ers can't string together wins, dropping us to 2-6. We're not going anywhere, as we stay in Milwaukee to host the Auroras. They've also been struggling this year, so we're looking to add to that with a win to, hopefully, get us back on track. We'll be in the standard brown set for this one, and are featuring goalie Logan Thompson. #MilwaukeesFinest
