Rivalry week with the Emperors! Classics

We managed to pull out a win against the Nightriders last week, and now we hope to continue that streak with a home game against the Cyclones. It's a close one in Kentucky right now, and hopefully we can hang on for the win. This week is featuring Nico Collins, who did not perform as well this week as he did last week. Oh well.

Week 3 has come and gone, and once again someone has missed the field goal. With a 5-5, I'm sorry to say that Dan, a .500 isn't enough, and we have to say goodbye to you this week.

Well, we did it, boys. San Diego snuck past Portland to get our first win of the season. Now we look to getting to .500 as we stay home and welcome the 3-0 Tennessee Copperheads to town. Many players were important in last week's win, but we must highlight quarterback Brock Purdy, who took over for Derek Carr after some lacklustre performances (and an injury) and led the Destroyers to victory to remain undefeated as a starting QB in the AltFL. By the way, we're wearing the navy helmet and grey jerseys again, but this time with navy pants. #BattleReady #SDvsTEN

That wasn't our best game, but it was good enough for a win, and that's what matters. Not only did we hand the Scarecrows their second loss of the season, we became the first team in AltFL history to beat Gardner Minshew as a starting quarterback, which feels like it deserves some sort of trophy. I'm sure it's stuck in the mail or something. Regardless, we're heading back home this week as we host the Orlando Galactics in a rematch of our first-round upset a few weeks ago. Headlining the matchup will be the man who was instrumental to slowing down Minshew, and who will look to do the same against Dak Prescott this week: none other than safety Jalen Thompson.

A big win on the road against division rival Philadelphia puts the Emperors at 2-1 as we head back home for another two game homestand. The first of those games is against the St. Louis Explorers who are also 2-1. With both the Emperors and Explorers looking to move to 3-1, this should be a tough fought battle. It's Public School Night with the Emperors, as 10% of all profits on the night will be distributed to New York City Public Schools. As for YOUR New York Emperors, they'll be in the standard home jerseys in this one, wearing the gray helmets, yellow jersey, and gray pants. The featured player is the returning Alvin Kamara, who will step into the starting lineup with his return this week. #ImperiumSineFine

And Power Ranks! We have a new team on top for the 3rd time this season, as the Bandits and Copperheads swap spots. Division Average ranks: East - 10.4, Central - 13.4, South - 7.2, West - 11

It was a tough loss last week against the Vulcans, but the Galactics hope to rebound against the Steelheads. WR Christian Kirk has had a slow start to the season, but he grabbed his first touchdown of the season last week and we hope he continues to improve. The uniform combo we are rolling with is a purple helmet, with a white jersey and purple pants, with a touch of orange in the socks. #ORLvsSEA2023 #startthecountdown #preparefortakeoff #GoGalactics

Now that's how we win our first game of the year! After being down by 16 on Sunday, the Cyclones would score over 20 points to complete the comeback against division foes Kentucky, putting us in the W column for the year. We'll have a chance to follow that up with our first home win of the year against the Nightriders. DL Aaron Donald was a major offseason signing and major reason why the Cyclones won last week, registering 7 total tackles and a sack to keep the Stallions in check. We'll be donning the typical home uniforms of white-red-tan-red to see if we can a winning streak going. #StormWatch
