Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

Seven players of the eighteen team of the week members are repeat members of the team as Contreras, Freeman, Arenado, Garcia, Doval, Robertson, and Bautista are back on the team. No player has made the team three times yet, but seventeen players are hoping to do so this week.

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

After a close game in Tampa, we couldn't close out the Turtles and drop our third game of the season. With a lot of baseball left to be played, we look to get back on the winning side of things with the first game in the modern era between the Bison and the Saints. We welcome them to Cox Ballpark and are wearing the brown alts in it. We're featuring second year first baseman, "The Italian Stallion" Vinnie Pasquantino! #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

The Atoms were just too much for the T-Birds to handle as they handed us our second loss of the season. Our first place lead is shrinking quickly, and we need another win to keep pace with the rest of the AL. We hit the road this week to Minnesota to face the Gemini, who are also looking for a turnaround win after falling to Carolina last week. We'll be wearing our sand roads this week, and featuring our red-hot DH Christopher Morel, who has hit 7 home runs in his 11 games played this season, and will hope to keep that red hot streak up this week. This week's natural monument is Montezuma Castle, located nearby Camp Verde. #Thunderstruck
Another week closer to the Sandlot Series means another teaser! This time, the Los Angeles Condors teased their uniform set for the series, which seemed to be throwing back to their original sets in 1962.

I like what I see for the Condors! Very excited for the full sets next week.

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

Despite a loss last week, the Arizona Thunderbirds still maintain a slim lead in the race for the American League. The Boston Masons are now traveling to the state of Nevada after a big win over the Memphis Kings. SS Paul DeJong was not on an AltLB team as of Monday, and now finds himself on the Team of the Week after hitting 3 home runs and driving in 7. #BetOnIt #UpAnd**** #BOSvs**

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

Weirdly, the Las Vegas Atoms are now the only National League team with an even number of wins (and losses) after 08 weeks, and unbelievably, that means we've opened up a 03-game lead on the rest of the NL. We get a bit of a reprieve from our tough schedule as we take on the basement-dwelling Memphis Kings this week for the middle game of our 03-game homestand. To give the Kings' neon a chance to shine this week, we'll be taking the field in our Fields of the Future jerseys for the one and only time this year. OF George Springer has now fully broken out of his slump, hitting 0.417 while working four walks over the past week. #BetOnIt #UpAndAtom #MEMvsLV

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

So power rank time. Clearly, everyone was pretty happy with their rankings from last week, as three teams moved up one spot, and three teams moved down one spot. So that's a nifty thing that happened.

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

The team of the week still has seen no one over 2 appearances, though the Condors have had the top 3B for three straight weeks. Love that fact.

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

Meanwhile, the Bison picked up a win over the Saints in the first game of the modern era between the two teams. With that, we keep pace with the top teams in the AL, which is nice. We head out on the road this week, as we head to Los Angeles to visit the Condors. We're going to wear our standard road grays in this one, and showcasing outfielder Anthony Santander! #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB - 2023 Season

Our second meeting against the Gemini was a lot like the first, as the T-Birds dominated in week 8 to sweep the Gemini this year. Luis Castillo had two great starts, striking out 18 over 12 innings pitched for 2 wins and quality starts. Since we already featured Castillo this year, we turn to the next highest-scoring player last week, 3B Austin Riley. Our biggest signing this offseason, he led the team in homers last week with 3 while driving in 6. He will lead the team in our second battle for the AL lead as we return home to host the Tampa Bay Turtles, and they won't turn over onto their shells to let us win. It'll be a tough matchup, and we'll be wearing our regular home sets in possibly the biggest week of our year. Featured this week is the Canyon de Chelly National Monument, a park that preserves the indigenous Americans in the area located now within the Navajo Nation. #Thunderstruck

Our actual biggest game of the regular season is just around the corner, as the Sandlot Series begins next week! After weeks of teasing the identities, this week the Thunderbirds and Condors both unveiled their uniforms for the game. The home Thunderbids unveiled a throwback to their inaugural 1988 season, where the team donned teal and purple instead of black and teal. Many games at Gila River Park see home fans split between the modern blacks and the retro teals, and the T-Birds will finally wear their original uniforms for the first time in years.

Los Angeles will also wear their uniforms from their inaugural year, though with a couple of changes. Instead of wearing their gray aways, the team will instead do a "fauxback" to their 1962 season by wearing a red away. This will bring back the tuscon lettering that the team briefly had during its first decade of existence.
