A late surge by the Pros wasn't enough to take down the Thunderbirds, who came out on top in the battle of AL undefeated teams. Now only two teams remain undefeated in the AltLB, the T-Birds in the AL and the Las Vegas Atoms in the NL after a valiant comeback effort to take down the New York Blackbirds. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. We hit the road next to take on the reigning AL and 2022 champions in the Oklahoma City Bison. It was a team effort in last week's win, with pitcher Zach Eflin striking out 10 over 7 innings for a win last week, while also forced to take off his wedding ring for some reason. We journey to Petrified National Forest for this week in a matchup that surely will not disappoint for either side, wearing our alternate blues once more. #Thunderstruck


We're now just 4 weeks away from the Sandlot Series, and the first thing to be unveiled for this series will be the logo! The event logo is based on the U.S. National Park Service's arrowhead logo, with rays in the sky from the flag of Arizona. The two primary typefaces are based on those found on signs welcoming visitors to National Parks like Tonto National Forest. The leftmost logo is the primary logo for the event, with the rightmost logo applied specifically for the throwback looks the teams will have. The center logo is for uniform applications. Stay tuned for future weeks, where the uniforms for both teams will be fully unveiled.

The Oakland Squirrels originally invited Tampa Bay to participate in our special event this week, but Gritty has been a bit tied-up. If anyone has me on their schedule and would like to participate please let me know.

Full disclosure, I realized I was missing an entire component in my formula, so it wasn't factoring in the results independent performance as it was supposed to. I have fixed it now, and gone back and corrected each week so this is now fixed, but some people moved a bunch, and that's why.

Coming off a big win over the last undefeated team in the AL when the Bison knocked off the Thunderbirds, we head down to Florida to take on the Turtles. We look forward to meeting up with Tampa Bay, and hope to keep the bats hotter than the Florida sun. Our pitching has been coming through big all season, and featured player, free agent pick up Justin Steele has been right there with Zac Gallen in anchoring the rotation. Ranger Suarez just came back, and we have a couple more pitchers about to be healthy. Things are already looking up, and we look to knock off the Turtles this week in the standard road grays. #WeAreOK

For the second week in a row, the Atoms' scheduled opponent lost the week before we played them, once again depriving us of a battle of undefeated teams. On the bright side, that means the Atoms are the only undefeated team remaining! At 06-00, we've opened up a 02-game lead over the second place team in the National League (which, despite conflicting reports, is in fact the league the Atoms are in), and we have a chance to take a 02-game lead over every other team in the league if we can beat Phoenix - er, sorry, Arizona - this week.
