Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Knock, knock. Who's there? Milwaukee. Milwaukee who? Milwaukee takes the one spot.

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Wait, no one was knocked out. That's the opposite of what's supposed to happen. Well, it's all their fault. Yes, I'm blaming Magic and Dire.

6-3  DireBear
6-3  Magic

Both had a tiebreaker of 160, so we're running it back!

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

With a win over the Shockers, the Wildcats have now officially conquered Western Canada, having beaten Calgary, Winnipeg, and now Saskatoon. Naturally, that means it's time to head east - all the way east, as it turns out, as our next matchup is in Halifax. The Bingf- I mean Kingfishers have struggled a bit out of the gate, but they've started to put things together, winning three out of their last four. The Cats come into this one a bit shorthanded, as Jack Eichel was just put on IR and Jeff Skinner is serving a suspension. We'll need help from players like W Taylor Hall, who is coming off a five-point performance last week, in order to stay undefeated against Canadian teams. #WhatTeam #EDMvsHFX

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Well, losing always sucks. Losing at home really sucks. Getting absolutely crushed by Boston doesn't feel good either. Let's put last week behind us, since this week we're heading out on the road to take on our biggest rivals, the Chicago Ghosts. Last time we met up with them we set the AltHL scoring record, so hopefully we can bring the points again this time. Showing off our standard ivory set on the road is goalie Logan Thompson, who has really stepped up with Darcy Kuemper's upper body injury. Which is a very broad way to say "concussion".

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Our second loss in 3 weeks puts the Owls below .500 again. The Racers jumped up to a big lead and never looked back. As for us, we head up to Boston for the second leg of this road trip. We've already faced the Rovers once this season and beat them, so we are looking to sweep the season series with a win this week. We will be wearing our standard away set (Grey-White-Navy-White) in Boston. As for our featured player, there isn't one, and there won't be one anymore because of injuries. #QUEvsBOS #RevengeOfTheHoot

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

It's over! It took one longer than expected, but we have a winner. This week had some fun to it, as both teams picked only 4 of the same results. And the winner flipped with the final NHL game played on Sunday night.

5-4  DireBear
4-5  Magic

With the Ghosts comeback win over the 48ers, that flipped the result of the game, and then the knockout, giving DireBear the AltHL Knockout win! Congrats Dire, you win the prize of a crisp high five.

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

With a big comeback to finish the week off, the Ghosts stormed back to capture a 1 point win over the 48ers. I don't care for that, but nothing I can do about it now except head back to Milwaukee and get ready to face Eastern Conference leading Montreal. The Chevaliers come to Manpower Arena at 8-2, but we're looking to snap our two game losing streak. We'll be wearing the traditional home browns for this one, shown by last week's top scorer, blueliner Erik Cernak!

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

Another big win over the Rovers puts the Owls back at .500, and we look to get our 2nd win in a row as we head out to the mountains of Colorado to take on the Denver Bighorns to end this 3-game road trip. As usual for road games, we will be wearing our standard away set (Grey-White-Navy-White) in Denver, and there's still no featured player (check last week's post to find out why). #RevengeOfTheHoot #QUEvsDEN

Re: The AltHL Season 2022

It was a hard-fought game, but unfortunately for the Wildcats, it seems like Halifax has finally figured out how to win games. Now 6-4, we return home to take on some spooky bois from Chicago. The Ghosts will be coming in with a lot of momentum after a huge comeback win over Milwaukee, but fortunately, the Cats will be getting some bodies back, including forwards Jeff Skinner and Ryan Hartman. This week, though, the featured player is D Ian Cole, who scored a rare goal to go along with two assists and six each of blocks and hits to help out at both ends of the ice. #WhatTeam #CHIvsEDM
