Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

And there's a chance that the finals, to be seen by the NHL Commissioner, would have no Minnesota teams with wins by the Brewers and Monarchs.

Maybe the finalists would be jockeying to host the would-be team's IHL affiliate?

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

I've gotten busy since school, but it looks like I showed up at the right time!
Your Name: Julian Scott
Age: 20
Profession: College student at the U of M
Name(s): 1)Aprons - Referring to both the wooden apron on St. Anthony Falls and the aprons of bakers, whose flour comes from mills in the city
2)Rivermen - Minneapolis is highly influenced by the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers
3)Archers - The Stone Arch Bridge is a historic piece of local culture (and it sounds boss!)
Colors: Wheat and Navy, with gray for effect

I love this series and must take this opportunity to approve of everything you've done except for the Bulldogs. Every league has its ugly team, and this one is no different. Go Diamonds!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Thank you everyone for your name suggestions, I have narrowed the suggestions down to 5.

The choices are:

Archers
Bakers (nickname Dough Boys)
Flying Aces (nickname Aces)
Jesters
Musicians

Please pick your top 3 choices. I will count the votes in points (1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points, 3rd = 1 point). I will tally the points over the next day or two to decide our winner.

1. Bakers (Awesone double connection of both WW1 and Pilsbury Doughboy in Minneapolis)
2. Musicians (Perhaps St. Louis Blues-inspired identity)
3. Jesters (Not my favorite nicknames but its better than Archers and Flying Aces)

The winter's cold and the roads are icy, so it's another great hockey season!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

1. Bakers (nice contrast to Millers, with SO many possibilities for branding)
2. Musicians (nice unique name, with about as many branding possibilities as Bakers)
3. Jesters (nod to their hopefully former status as the laughingstock of the league..."We used to think our team's history was a tragedy...but now we realize...it's a comedy.")
