Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Wow, what a run by the Ducks! (do ducks run? idk) It's been cool to see some newer teams lift the hardware recently. Hope that trend keeps up!

I can’t believe that the Ducks won the Kellogg Cup! Congratulations Detroit Lakes Wood Ducks.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Retired Numbers

The Duluth Hornets retired their first ever number, honoring long time Captain and franchise point leader Colton Hill (LW). Hill played for the Hornets from 1940-42 and 1946-54 and also was on "Duluth", a combined team of Hornets and Voyageurs players that joined forces in 1944 and 1945. In his 14 years in the MAHL (no season in 1943), Hill was able to hoist Senator Kellogg's Cup 4 times, going down as one of the most decorated players in the history of the MAHL.

The St. Paul Victorias have decided to finally officially retire the numbers of two V greats. The numbers 3 and 10 have been unofficially retired for decades now, so it was only a matter of time before the team would make it official. #3 belonged to longtime Captain and fan favorite Lance Ogden (C), known by most simply as "Cap" who wore the blue and white for over two decades. Cap was able to retire a champion, winning his first and only Kellogg Cup in 1955. #10 was worn by Cody Klaus (RW), the heir to the Captaincy after Ogden retired. Klaus was a consistently solid player on both ends of the ice, helping lead the V's to two Kellogg Cups in his 20 year career.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

I'm liking "The Acorn," especially since I could throw one from my house in Eagan into Burnsville.
