Alaska Ice Bears - Polar Bears are refereed to as "Ice Bears" in some parts of the world and it makes sense for a hockey team
Detroit Mechanics - It ain't the motor city for nothing
Edmonton Lights - Northern Lights
Saskatoon Buffaloes - Bison or Buffaloes are common on the Canadian Prairies
Milwaukee Riders - Harley-Davidson is based in Milwaukee
Ottawa Generals - Ottawa is the military center of Canada and it was a name for a old Ottawa team from the 1890s

Edmonton Black Sox (oil is black)
Detroit Car Sox (motor city)
Saskatchewan Wheat Sox (Sask and Wheat, name a better duo)
Milwaukee Socken Sox (Socken is "Socks" in German)
Ottawa Maple Sox (maple trees are common in Canada)

Congratulations to Steel and the great fans in Halifax. The Kingfishers won the first ever Alt Cup with a 172 - 115 victory over the Calgary Wranglers. 



We will be keeping track of whose names are on the cup. We'll get to see if there are players who show up multiple times, no matter which team wins it. This year...
