How are the first-round byes decided here? Do each of the division champions get byes?

The divisions confused me, so I ended up having one conference with no divisions. (East and West). So the top two teams gain the first round bye. Only six teams make the playoffs also, mostly because I don't like having more than half of a conference making the playoffs.

 I was going to start posting the MLB records, but its a little fishy without an explanation. The POD is that the Milwaukee Brewers (the original one) move to Avalon, which has no team at the time, rather than Saint Louis which already had the Cardinals. So even though the MLB is altered from 1901 onwards, but it still takes until 1969 for a playoff to be formed, so the listing of playoff histories starts in 1969. There is a post up thread that shows the World Series wins so I'll put the World Series before 1969
