Portland Beavers (Oregon is the Beaver State)
Utah Archers (On Utah license plates is an Arch)
San Francisco Sea Lions (Sea Lions are in the bay in SF)
Los Angeles Surfers (Cali’s first sports love was Surfing)
Dallas Marshalls (Wild west theming just goes with Texas)
Colorado Peaks (Mountains in Colorado)
Houston Railmen (Houston has a huge rail depot)
New Orleans Brass (Brass instruments used to play jazz music in the city)
San Antonio Stallions (Just a nice underused name in sports)
Chicago Cardinals (Cardinal is the state bird of Illinois)

New York Cosmopolitans (NYC is a cosmopolitan city)

Seattle Evergreens (I heard it as an option for NHL Seattle, and it grew on me)
Portland Owls (Owls are awesome, and under-represented in sports)
Utah Railers (The Trans-American railway was finished in Utah)
San Francisco Gatekeepers (As a play on the Golden Gate Bridge)
Los Angeles Mammoths (due to the remains found in the La Brea Tar Pits)
Dallas Flying Red Horses (due to this sign: https://theculturetrip.com/north-america/usa/texas/articles/whats-with-the-neon-pegasus-in-downtown-dallas/)
Denver Mountaineers (Mountains in Colorado)
Houston Cosmos (because NASA)
New Orleans Pirates (piracy was a thing in the area)
San Antonio Sams (a significant military presence in the city, Fort Sam is the only one within city limits)
Chicago Bulldogs (just a classic name, nothing too flashy, which fits for Chicago)
Cincinnati Hogs (a history of running hogs through the city)
Cleveland Flames (their RIVER was burning at one point)
Detroit Gorillas (a mechanic may be known as a "wrench monkey", a gorilla is a large ape)
Milwaukee Lakers (due to their location on Lake Michigan)
St. Louis Kings (Budweiser is based there, and call themselves the King of Beers)
Boston Schooners (a common wooden ship for the area when those were common)
New York Gothams (just seems to fit)
Philadelphia Independents (it's where the Declaration of Independence was drafted and signed)
Pittsburgh Ingots (a name for the workable piece of metal)
Washington Commanders (Pentagon is located here, President is the Commander-in-Chief)

Seattle Sockeyes- This was an option for NHL Seattle. It got rejected but it sounds cool
Portland Loggers- Logging industry is pretty big in Oregon
Salt Lake Halos- Was going to say Mormons but that sounds offensive so I went with this while keeping the religious theme
San Francisco Orcas- Lots of Whales nearby
Los Angeles Grizzles- If you have ever seen the California State flag you will know what I am talking about
Dallas Pegasus- This mythical creature is an incoming symbol of the city
Denver Couagars- Mountain Lions in Colorado and an underused name
Houston Galaxy- NASA is headquartered in Houston
New Orleans Gators- Lots of alligators in the area
San Antonio Outlaws- Lots of Outlaws were in Texas in the Olden days
Chicago Stars- Again if you have seen the Chicago Flag, you know what I mean
Cincinnati Avaitors- The Wright Brothers lived nearby
Cleveland Rockers- The Rock n Roll hall of fame is there
Detroit Notes- Motown music originated in the city and what is music symbol? A music Note!
Milwaukee Robins- Robins are Wisconsin’s State birds
St Louis Pioneers- Lewis and Clark’s journey to the pacific began in St Louis
Boston Admirals- Boston has a long and Storied naval history
New York Knights- A reference to the film the Natural and just fits in with NYC
Philadelphia Brawlers- Another movie reference this time to Rocky
Pittsburgh Forgers- Iron forges and Pittsburgh is famous for the Steel industry
Washington Presidents- The president lives there so...
