Well, the proposal was for Phoenix first, and then Phoenix, DFW, and Florida. Notice anything about these places.

NBA is in Orlando, and outside of Lou Williams scaring everybody, it’s been working. Besides, Phoenix and Miami have roofed stadiums, so DFW is the only one that has a stadium issue.

Well, if they were to split up into East, Central, and West they would still need at least 3 stadiums to play the games in, in each city.

East to New York (Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, MCU Park), Central to Chicago (Wrigley Field, Guaranteed Rate Field, Ozinga Field), West to LA (Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium, San Manuel Stadium). I think this arrangement would work out.

The governments in those places have expressed a lack of enthusiasm for a return to live sports. I'm not sure there are very many places that have a government willing to accept the bubble, the facilities to pull off the bubble, and don't have spiking case counts.

Re: 2020 MLB predictions

Leave it to baseball to continue screwing things up. This is why we can’t have nice things. With the report today that Philly is canceling games I fear the season will stop as abruptly as it started unless they can figure out a bubble plan.

I mean, the Phillies seems to be less widespread than the Marlins, with the Phillies being a coach and staffer. But after the Reds debacle with Moustakas and Senzel, I could see some players being less likely to self-report (as they did). They self-reported, came back negative on the test, but then weren't being allowed to play, and they had to appeal, missing multiple games after the negative result. It sets the precedent that if you self-report having a symptom, come back negative, you could still miss additional games. Some players may not take the chance of that happening, especially a guy who isn't a superstar that's just "a guy".

Re: 2020 MLB predictions

I’m seeing reports on Twitter that the networks are preparing alternate programming for if/when baseball gets shut down again. I guess it was fun while it lasted.
