Re: AltHL Legacy

The Canadian Shield VI Playoffs

Re: AltHL Legacy

And here comes the proverbial choking of the Racers. I fully expect it.

Also, if we choke in the semifinals again, I will Dellor rage and smash my desk repeatedly.

Re: AltHL Legacy

The 2005 Adams Cup Playoffs

The Rovers come back to the playoffs to the surprise of many AltHL fans.  They go up against the Gargoyles who have been a playoff resident for a number of years but haven't won it all since year 1.  The Rovers show the beginnings of something special with a quick sweep over their rivals.

Rovers Roster
F - 21 - Guy Carbonneau
D - 28 - Steve Duchesne
F - 16 - Brett Hull (Captain)
G - 31 - Curtis Joseph
D - 2 - Al MacInnis
F - 19 - Brendan Shanahan
F - 26 - Peter Stastny
F - 10 - Esa Tikkanen

Gargoyles Roster
D - 77 - Ray Bourque (Captain)
F - 21 - Ted Donato
F - 8 - Cam Neely
F - 12 - Adam Oates
F - 22 - Jozef Stumple
F - 20 - Bryan Smolinski
G - 25 - Blaine Lacher

Charlotte Racers versus Seattle Seawolves
The former champion Wolves are the current West Division champions.  They go up against the Racers who have been cursed the last number of seasons.  Back and forth series ends with the Racers getting over the hump to the finals.  Only one more hill to climb.

Racers Roster
Due to health concerns you will notice the absence of Mario Lemieux.  He had dealt with cancer as well as significant back issues.
F - 10 - Ron Francis (Captain)
F - 68 - Jaromir Jagr
F - 15 - Shawn McEachern
D - 55 - Larry Murphy
F - 26 - Richard Park (he eventually played in the Flyers system. One of my favorite players.  He is from South Korea)
F - 20 - Luc Robitaille
F - 25 - Kevin Stevens
F - 82 - Martin Straka
G - 1 - Ken Wregget

Seawolves Roster
F - 41 - Jason Allison
F - 27 - Craig Berube
F - 12 - Peter Bondra
G - 35 - Byron Dafoe
D - 17 - Sergei Gonchar
F - 32 - Dale Hunter (Captain)
F - 26 - Keith Jones
F - 90 - Joe Juneau
G - 37 - Olaf Kolzig

Re: AltHL Legacy

Cool to see Charlotte finally get into the finals!  Them vs. Boston should be a fun one!

Hey Gritty, don't know if anyone's ever asked, but how do you simulate the playoffs?

Yep you could probably find it somewhere but it's pretty simple.  After we put our teams into the playoffs I look up the Calder Cup playoffs of that corresponding season (that's the AHL / AAA-esque for anyone who didn't know).  Their number 1 seed is our number 1 seed and however they do we do.
