1960 NAFA Off Season: Part I
This off season was a busy one in the NAFA with two new expansions teams, three identity tweaks, and a new league alignment/schedule.
The Chicago Cougars altered the colors on their logo to make it so there was only gray, black, and white. They also received new uniforms and a new helmet, with a new secondary logo (they're the first team to use one).
After fans complained that the new Black Bears helmets blended with their logo too much, the team switched to a new gold shell.
Philadelphia made the white outlines on their logo shorter and received new uniforms that new use TV numbers.

Thanks for viewing, C&C is appreciated.
Part II will consist of the two expansions teams and rule changes.

Solid updates. That gold helmet is fantastic for Minny. I think the Chicago white uni numbers should either be black or outlined in black, tough to see. Philly looking good. Can't wait for the expansion teams!
And congrats to the Jacks again! Can't believe Hunter didn't win MVP. He's clearly the driving force of that team.

I love Chicago's new design! Gray as a primary color for a team is very unique and in this case, looks excellent! I agree with Steelman that the white unis could use black outlines, especially considering the clash unis already have outlines on them. I'd also argue that the helmet lines are a little distracting as they are (1 white line and 1 black line). It could be me being OCD, but adding another black line to sandwich the white one could really help balance out the look. I do prefer the new double C helmet logo too! Great job overall with this one!
Minneapolis definitely looks better with the gold helmet and Philadelphia looks good as usual!

The new lids for Minneapolis are great, I do think the white jersey could benefit from black numbers and either gold pants or socks though.

1960 NAFA Off Season: Part II
Thanks everyone for the feedback on Chicago and Minneapolis, I went back and made a few changes:
- Black numbers on Minneapolis white jersey.
- Black numbers on Chicago white jersey.
- Gold socks for Minneapolis white uniform.
Now for the 1960 Expansion Franchises!
Boston and Washington won the expansion vote, receiving 10 and 6 votes respectively...
First up, the Boston Riders:
The Riders are named after Paul Revere's ride during the American Revolution. Their logo is also based off of a statue in Boston of Revere on horseback. I used the uniforms design that the Dallas Cowboys used during the 1960's.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Next are the Washington Federals:
The Federals' logo is a W with the Washington Monument behind in the middle. The Federals are named after DC's status as the home of the US Federal Government.
-----------------------------------------------------------
With the NAFA now sitting at 12 teams, the league was realigned once again. Here are the new divisions:
East: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington
Central: Cleveland, Detroit, Ottawa, Toronto
West: Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, St. Louis
The league schedule has also been increased to 14 games. Teams will play the other 3 teams in their division twice and every other team once.
The Playoffs have also been changed. The number of qualifying teams has now been increased from 4 to 6. The 6 teams are based purely off of regular season record, divisional championships don't guarantee a playoff berth. There will be two "play-in" games between the 3rd-6th and 4th-5th seeds. The lower seeded winner will advance to play the 1 seed, and the higher seeded winner will advance to play the 2 seed.

I really like the updates, especially the new Cougars look. I love the helmet logo and the grey jersey.
The new teams look era appropriate. I like the Federals look, although I'm not too crazy about the Riders. But, since it does tie in with the time period, I'm not complaining.

I really like Boston's look! Probably one of my new favorite designs! Logo is nice too, although I have to ask... what exactly is that stick like thing Paul Revere appears to be holding? A sword? I know it's based off a real statue, but canonically speaking, I could see that design raising a few eyebrows, especially once the internet gets invented. Otherwise though, absolutely perfect design.
The Washington Federals have a solid design too. I'm glad you didn't just do the traditional red, white, and blue color scheme that you'd expect with a Washington based franchise. A very classy look! Great job on both of these teams!
Looking forward to see how the new playoff format plays out! I bet the Blues and Americans are loving their division for the next couple years!

The new teams look great! I'm sure we'll see New York and Philadelphia in the playoffs for the next few years, of course.
