Im predicting there might be a merger soon.
Any merger isn't going to be happening for a while, the SFL literally just formed.
Like in a decade, or more.

I will when I can, but please, just because I don't immediately respond, it doesn't mean you need to ask again. I've asked you more than once to stop unnecessarily bumping my thread and spamming posts. Stop.
Also, the second part of the offseason should be up tomorrow, thanks for all the feedback on the SFL names, I really fell in love with a bunch and I'm excited to get to work with them. If anyone has any last minute suggestions before I set my mind to these, let me know because I'm still open to any other voices.

1963 NFA Offseason Pt.2
11th Annual NFA Draft:
1st- QB Curtis Mueller - University of Colorado - Cleveland Rangers
2nd- DE Dave Looney - Northern University - Philadelphia Hornets
3rd- RB Sid Snell - Florida University - San Francisco Whales
4th- LB Bob Hayes - University of Missouri - Baltimore Bulldogs
5th- RB Thomas O’Grady - Maryland Tech University - New York Cannons
Other Notable Picks:
6th- DT Will Oatwell - Oregon University - Los Angeles Tigers
7th- RB Kent Ross - Detroit State University - Minneapolis Blue Ox
10th- RB Bob Briscoe - Florida University - Chicago Zephyrs
14th- LB George Pope - Ohio University - Cleveland Rangers
20th- WR Nicholas Van Daalen - Hamilton University - Minneapolis Blue Ox
Roster Changes:
-Hornets trade WR Wally Fields to Baltimore. This is added to the list of questionable moves made by the Hornets front office in the past few years, Fields was a top tier wide receiver last season and the top target for QB Eugene Addams. In exchange they got a couple late round picks and no name players. For Baltimore this is a great move. A weapon for QB Greyson Little to hopefully help the offense flow a bit nicer than last season.
-Zephyrs trade OLB Donny Chandler to Los Angeles. A really good move for both LA and Chicago. For the Z-men, they traded a solid defender in exchange for some picks and LB Eli Webber. Webber is the same age as Chandler and not far off from him in production. LA gets some more immediate improvements on defense, while not completely what they needed, it’s not unwanted.
-Zephyrs continue making deals, they package WR Harold Schmitt and FB Brad Cohn, two solid offensive pieces, to Seattle for RB Carson King and a 3rd round pick.
-Rangers trade QB Marvin Tamer to New York. Not much to say here, Tamer has become a traveler, this is his third team in 3 years. New York gives up FB William Rowe and some compensation.
-The biggest move of the offseason came last, QB Burt O’Connor was traded to Philadelphia for legendary QB and former 2 time MVP; Eugene Addams. In a move that shocked just about everyone, Philadelphia gives away their most prized possession, a man who wanted to retire a Hornet, a fan favorite who’s been with the team for a decade, for a 29 year old project. Minneapolis pairs O’Connor with RB Chuck Boston, and a pick to Philly for Addams. Addams has since stated his frustration with the deal, but states he is excited for the change of scenery the season could provide. He said he’s still committed to retiring with the Hornets, if possible. For Minneapolis, this deal comes after fans have watched the team disappoint the past 2 seasons, demanding for some big moves. If this works out, fans could expect a return to the NFA West Championship.
Coaching Changes:
-Offensive Coordinator Jim Johnson retires for the Pirates, his replacement is Patrick Lemon, who’s bounced around several coaching positions from college to professional over his career, his last 4 seasons have been spent as the Northern University’s OC.
-Roy Lynch was fired with his OC Frank Watson. The Cannons replaced them with Douglass Shipp, who was recently fired from head coaching duties with Cleveland, and David Lindberg. Lindberg last was a head coach at small college New York State, where he led his team to a National Championship on their level.
-Cleveland fires head coach Douglass Shipp. Shipp was the team’s first head coach, hired back in 1956. His replacement is former defensive coordinator Sean MacDonald. MacDonald was the orchestrator for the Rangers powerful defense through the late 50’s. His replacement at DC is Adolf Trent, a collegiate coordinator who saw major success with each team he coached.
League News:
-Highlighting this year's retiring class are RB James Barnes, DE Ace Rupper, WR Patrick Doyle and RB Quentin Brookes. Most notably are the last two names on that list. WR Patrick Doyle is most known for his time in Philadelphia, where he was the recipient of the “Luckiest Catch in Football” to win the 1957 Champions Bowl. Doyle would go on to play for the Pirates and would end his 12 year career there. RB Quentin Brookes was an even bigger name. The former MVP RB, starred on and carried his New York Cannons to their only Champions Bowl victory in 1953, the same year he won MVP. Brookes also won the first ever Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year award in 1950. He would play for New York until 1956, when he would be traded to Pittsburgh. He would play in the Steel City for 4 seasons before being traded back to New York. The stint with the Ironmen was rough, battling injuries and a regressing talent, he would put up some of his worst numbers. After being traded back to the Cannons he would play slightly better before another injury sealed his career. A fan favorite among New Yorkers, his number 32 will be the third number hanging outside Centennial Field.
-Gaels owner and founder Edward Smith passes. Smith not only was a founder of the Boston Gaels but a founder of the NFA. A good friend of former Commissioner Wagner, Smith was a devout football fan and was one of the best owners in the league. The team passes on to his brother, Art Smith, who much like his older brother, is a devout fan and actually coached the Gaels years and years ago. In memoriam of him, the league has decided to name the Champions Bowl trophy after him. The new Edward Smith Memorial Trophy is pictured below and will continue to be given to the Champions Bowl victor.
-The NFA passes a new deal with CBS, new Commissioner Cherry strong armed them into allowing each and every team to have their whole season televised, which was above what everyone was expecting.
-Ideas about a 6 team postseason start to pick up traction, no official word from the league but players weigh in, many saying they would be pumped for a wildcard round in the postseason.
Preseason Power Rankings:
1.Boston Gaels
2.Minneapolis Blue Ox
3.Pittsburgh Ironmen
4.Chicago Zephyrs
5.Los Angeles Tigers
6.Washington Pirates
7.New York Cannons
8.Seattle Lumberjacks
9.Detroit Bombers
10.Philadelphia Hornets
11.Baltimore Bulldogs
12.San Francisco Whales
13.Cleveland Rangers
Analysis:
The Boston Gaels have the number 1 on lock. Coming off an MVP year QB Donald McCloud and the Gaels look to soar. The Ox follow them, a big jump from last year thanks to the addition of QB Eugene Addams, is it all hype or are they going to actually do well? Behind them are the reigning runner ups, the Ironmen, they're out to prove last year wasn't a fluke, but with the troubling news of relocation weighing over the team, they can only hope to go out in glory. In 4th are the reigning champs, a bit of age and offseason losses pull them down to 4th but in an NFA West that's all up for grabs they could maybe manage another run. The Tigers are in 5th as a dark horse Champions Bowl contender, hoping to build off last years mistakes, LA’s lookin to live up to the expectations. The Pirates are the last true Champions Bowl contenders, an experienced team but they might just get snuffed out again by Boston or Pittsburgh. New York and Seattle follow Washington up as super unlikely postseason contenders. Both are young teams, the Jacks with a QB with very high potential and the Cannons with a potentially lethal defense, they could both go far or fall down pretty easily. Detroit slips all the way down, in main part due to the poor showing in the NFA West Championship. Philly, B-more are in two different places but with similar mixed up teams. Finally, Cleveland and San Francisco are looking to spend another year in the basement, hoping to find light eventually.
Identity Changes:
-The Los Angeles Tigers add helmet numbers. They also add a white facemask, which is the first colored facemask in the league.
-After backlash from fans, the Bulldogs drop silver and stick with black and red, the colors of the original Bulldogs. The uniforms stay the same except the helmet is now black and the pants are now white at home and black on the road.
-The Boston Gaels color one stripe on their uniform black for the season to honor Edward Smith.
Here is the updated Edward Smith Memorial Trophy.
C&C Appreciated! Give me your predictions for next season!
