Another AltHL season is upon us! The 48ers are coming off of their second-best season in franchise history, earning the fourth seed in their second playoff appearance but ultimately falling to the eventual runner-up Loons in the semifinals. We'll look to improve on that performance this year, and our first step in that journey will come at home against our nearest geographic rivals, the Chicago Ghosts. Our longest tenured player last season was defensemen (and Player/Ass Coach) Moritz Seider, who scored 8 goals with 38 assists in 82 regular season games, but far outpaced the rest of the team in hits and blocks, with 212 and 181 respectively. #ShotsOnUs #AnotherRound

Week 1 - New York Gargoyles (0-0) vs Charlotte Racers (0-0)

Hockey season is back and the new look New York Gargoyles are kicking off week one at home against the Charlotte Racers. The Gargoyles will look to rely on there young defense core to carry the team while hopefully the forwards and goaltenders can find their footing. A fun season is ahead for New York!

The Wildcats gave the Seawolves a rough re-introduction to the AltHL with a commanding win. Now comes another matchup against a Western Conference rival on the road, except this one is the Battle of Alberta. Despite being the little brother in the relationship, we've historically had the upper hand over the Wranglers, and we'll look to keep up that trend this week. To help out in that regard, we'll turn to G Jeremy Swayman, who looks to have bounced back after a rough go of things last year. Sway saved 56 of 58 Seattle shots while earning a pair of Ws. #WhatTeam #RallyCats

We had a strong battle against our foes in Portland but ultimately came up just short as the Sawblades were the highest scoring team of the week. We look to rebound on the road against the Ottawa Guardians. Featured is star defenseman and longtime Kingfisher legend Mackenzie Weegar.

In game 1, the 48ers got a win as the lowest scoring team with a win. We quickly rectified that in game 2, finishing the game as the second highest scoring team in the league in our win over the Auroras. We now head out on the road for the first time to take on the Portland Sawblades, who are also undefeated on the season. We'll be in the standard road ivories this week and feature captain Nico Hischier! Cap had himself a complete game last week, punching in a goal himself, helping on three additional goals, hitting that one guy on the Auroras really well, and blocking five shots on his way to a +2 in the game with a power play point as well. #ShotsOnUs #AnotherRound
