Hawaii Menehunes: Tribute to the Menehune people of Hawaiian legend, who were said to be expert craftsman, similar to how basketball players craft plays.
Omaha Tractors: Obvious.
Boston Pilgrims: Obvious.
New York Groove: Reference to the famous KISS song and local hip hop.
Indiana Checkers: Homage to the Indy 500.

New Mexico Quads: New Mexico is part of the 4 way state border with Utah, Colorado, and Arizona.
Boston Capitals: Massachusetts capital and a popular area in the colonial days.
Hawaii Americans: the last State added to America so far.
Brooklyn Artists: the NYC area is known for unique art, Brooklyn has the most unique and cool art in the Boroughs.
Nebraska Pioneers: The explorers west went through Nebraska because it was part of the Oregon Trail.
Indianapolis Victors: The statue in Indianapolis represents Lady Victory, an icon in Indiana.
