Re: Yorkland Hockey League

2003 Pacino Cup Finals
Kelly City Lakers vs. Brooklynn Blackhawks
- The team of destiny is what Lakers fans referred to their team as, and they pulled off the biggest win of all at home in Game 5 to lift the Pacino Cup in front of their fans. The Blackhawks fail to win the Cup for the 2nd time in 3 years.

With the season coming to an end, the relationship with the Yorkland Government officially ended and the YHL is officially an owner only league.

After the parade in Kelly City, the league plans to reveal new jerseys, logos and colour schemes for their teams this summer. The biggest off-season in league history is upon us.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

The League Re-Design
Part 1 of 4

The new league digs were revealed  and all the teams will be wearing new “Super Hockey” company jerseys.

Starting with the Keen Division Teams:

Crystal Beach Bullets:
Despite the chance to make a big change, the Bullets kept everything as is. The vertical sleeve stripe remains and the team is sticking with the gun powder logo.

Fort Theory Generals:
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s the theme with Fort Theory who are making minor striping changes to their look but remaining relatively the same with a clean, simple look.

Dawn Mills Devil Rays:
While the logo structure remains, the Rays are moving to a grey dominant jersey with baby blue trim. The grey really becomes a focal point on the new jerseys and really makes the blue standout. The Rays are using a white out version of the logo on their home jerseys.

Montane Boarders:
A significant change sees the full snowboarder logo replaced with the snowboard hipster logo. The pink and teal colours remain, a truly unique combo, and the goggles feature a somewhat hidden maple leaf to represent the Yorkland Flag.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

The League Re-Design
Part 2 of 4

Nevin Division:

Anchor City:
Minor changes to the Anchor City jersey, as the grey becomes more prominent in the away jersey. The logo remains the fan favourite “Anchored Shark” logo.

Battlefield Braves:
The Braves reveal the new “Feathered Stick” logo, replacing the bunched feathers which move to a shoulder patch. The green and black remain after some thought of changing the teams colour scheme.

Bentley Stars:
The Stars keep their logo and colour scheme, but switch the jersey design. The sleeves now feature 3 stars to represent their 3 Pacino Cup victories.

Brooklynn Blackhawks:
Brooklynn keeps their jerseys but officially move away from their all blacks at home to the vibrant reds with black trim. The new look has been well received by the fans who are hoping for a black jersey for the Outdoor game in Bentley. Those jerseys will be revealed before the game.

And since I'll be out of town the rest of the week, we'll also do Part 3!...

Little Division:

Kelly City Lakers:
The biggest change from the off-season comes from the defending champions, who are changing logos, colour schemes and jerseys. The navy and yellow circle logo is replaced with an anchored K and the team is moving to a deep navy and coral blue colour scheme. The simple striping on the jerseys gives them a clean cut look.

Lake Hope Lions:
The marching lion logo remains, but the Lions are moving to a black dominated logo. The silver lion returns on the black home jerseys, but Lake Hope is really focusing on the black and white neutral scheme with their new look.

Mount Faith Eruption:
The reds are no more as the Eruption move to a black home jersey and white away jersey with the red and yellow accents. The simple striping blends with the somewhat detailed logo to create a cool contrast.

South Beach Seminoles:
Another massive change comes from one of the most successful teams in league history as the Seminole head logo is removed and replaced with the sunset palm tree shield. South Beach moves away from the black and yellow scheme and are moving to a red and yellow dominated colour scheme. Red pants and red gloves dominate both sets of jerseys and the Seminoles are hoping the new look will be just as successful as the old look.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

The League Re-Design
Part 4 of 4

Bayleigh Peach Kings:
The Kings keep their logo but change the striping on their jerseys. The Peach Kings are moving to peach coloured pants for both sets of jerseys which is a very unique look.

Cayuga Saints:
The Saints keep their logo and colour scheme, however they have switched to a whiteout version of their logo on the home jerseys and have new striping on the jersey sleeves.

Central Valley Crusaders:
Central Valley moves away from their purple jerseys and have moved to a gold home scheme with purple trim. Simple striping is present on the jerseys as the Crusaders look for a more classic look despite being one of the newer teams in the league.

Walker City Railers:
Very minor changes to the Railers who were considered to have one of the better sets of jerseys in the league. The cross-cut striping remains and the gold become more prominent in both sets.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

2004 Regular Season:

The season started in Kelly City, with the new look Lakers raising their 2003 Championship banner to the rafters of the Quest Center.

In the East, the South Beach Seminoles won the Little Division, looking to get back to the Pacino Cup finals and a shot at another title. Kelly City finished second while Mount Faith landed in third. Lake Hope hit rock bottom and finished dead last in the division again and it appears it’s time to start fresh.

In the Wood Division, the Saints lead the way, winning the Prime Minister’s Tophy and racking up 158 points. The Bayleigh Peach Kings made significant strides, finishing 2nd in the division but still would miss the playoff due to the wild card rule. Central Valley and Walker City continue to just round out the bottom of the league and appear to be far away from contending.

Over to the West, the Keen Division was lead by the Fort Theory Generals and the Dawn Mills Devil Rays. Crystal Beach and Montane rounded out the bottom, but it would only be Fort Theory making the playoffs.

In the Nevin Division, Brooklynn stormed to a division win and are looking to go back to the finals. Bentley continues their record playoff streak finishing 2nd while Battlefield takes third. Anchor City has a disappointing year and misses the playoffs for the first time in 3 years.

For the first time ever, the YHL hosted an outdoor game as the Bentley Stars hosted the Brooklynn Blackhawks at Smile Motors Stadium. The Stars are rocking a version of the Bentley Evergeens jerseys from the AYF, whose home stadium is hosting the game. The Blackhawks are wearing a version of their original jerseys.

The Blackhawks would win the inaugural game 4-3. The league announced there will be future games.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

2004 Pacino Cup Playoffs
Conference Semi-Finals

Fort Theory Generals vs. Bentley Stars
- In a wild 7 game series, the Stars emerge with a 6-0 win in the final game to take the series and stun the Generals.

Brooklynn Blackhawks vs. Battlefield Braves
- Brooklynn destroyed the Braves in the first 3 games of the series, out-scoring the Braves 18-4. Battlefield held off elimination in double OT in Game 4, but it was over quickly in Game 5 as the Blackhawks would put them away 6-4.

Brooklynn will host Bentley in the conference finals.

South Beach Seminoles vs. Kelly City Lakers
- The last 4 champions collide in the first round in a highly anticipated series. After splitting the first 2 games, Kelly City would shut out the Seminoles in back to back games to take a 3-1 lead. The Seminoles battled back to win the next 2 and send it to Game 7, where the Lakers would take an insane game 1-0 to move on. The feeling in South Beach is that the dynasty run is officially over.

Cayuga Saints vs. Mount Faith Eruption
- In a highly entertaining and shockingly physical series, the Eruption stun the Saints and their fans, sending them home in 6 and head to the conference finals, looking for their first title since 1999.

Kelly City will host Mount Faith in the conference finals.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

2004 Conference Finals

Brooklynn Blackhawks vs. Bentley Stars
- The rivals meet in the ultimate high stakes clash with the Stars looking for their first finals berth since 1996, but they would fall short to Brooklynn, who are headed to their third final in four years and are looking for their first ever title.

Kelly City Lakers vs. Mount Faith Eruption
- The Lakers fail to repeat as they fall to the Eruption, who held the Lakers to only 2 goals in the first 3 games. The Eruption put them away in 5 games to head to the finals.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

2004 Pacino Cup Finals

Brooklynn Blackhawks vs. Mount Faith Eruption
- The Blackhawks are no longer the butt end of the leagues jokes as they absolute throttle the Eruption and don’t look back. Brooklynn wins their first ever Pacino Cup, at home in front of their fans at the Brooklynn Arena and the celebrations raged into the night.

Re: Yorkland Hockey League

2005 Regular Season

After the complete success of the 2004 season, the YHL roars into it's second season as an owner run enterprise.

The season began in Brooklynn where the Blackhawks raised their championship banner to the rafters.

The annual Outdoor Clash was held in South Beach, on the shore of the ocean!

South Beach defeated Dawn Mills 4-2 in a great game.
The regular season was another grind and the standings were as followed:

Kelly City and South Beach both made the playoffs, along with Cayuga and Bayleigh, who actually tied with 158 points!

In the west, Bentley took home the Prime Minister's Trophy with 164 points. They qualify for the playoffs along with Anchor City, who stunned the defending champion Blackhawks down the stretch to make Brooklynn miss. Fort Theory and Dawn Mills qualified also.
