A little late, but Mersey looks amazing. I love the name Mermen, and the Yellow Submarine Alt is pretty stylish. I’m actually surprised neither of Liverpool’s clubs thought of that.

As I was doing some research for the APL expansion I came across the site for the MLS Charlotte team coming in 2021. Â
They are doing something interesting that (correct me if I am wrong) no other team has done with their team name reveal. Â They released the 8 finalist names. And they are eliminating them one by one over time.
The names are...
All Carolina FC
Carolina Gliders FC
Carolina Athletic FC
Charlotte Crown FC
Charlotte FC
Charlotte Fortune FC
Charlotte Monarchs FC
Charlotte Town FC
The names in red have been eliminated. Â It's a pretty unique and cool name reveal strategy.
The final team name will be revealed this week.
So I think we will reveal the four expansion team names in a similar way for the APL. Â After taking into account people's suggestions for expansion locations I have come down to the expansion cities. Â I needed two in the west and two in the east.
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
BUFFALO, NEW YORK
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

Yeah, it's been a fun process. The official name and logo reveal is set to take place on the 22nd, I'm pumped. It looks like the colors will be blue and purple and it probably won't be "Carolina Gliders" which is awesome. Charlotte Town FC is my favorite and I believe it's the local favorite as well, though Monarchs is nice as well. The 8 names had been discovered as trademarks by Tepper's group a while back.
Excited for the expansion teams!
