The second franchise to be granted was the Orlando Thunder, who will play their home games at the Florida Citrus Bowl. The Thunder's majority owner is Raj Bhathal. Also involved with the club is actor Burt Reynolds, who co-owned the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL.

LA could have a beach theme too.  Tan/powder blue/yellow would be a good combo.

The sixth franchise to be granted was the Paris Phantoms. Their logo depicts Erik, the titular character of Gaston Leroux's classic story Phantom of the Opera. The emblem was leaked to Sports Illustrated about a week or so before the uniforms were scheduled to be unveiled.

The seventh franchise to be granted was the San Antonio Riders. The team will be owned by Larry Benson, brother of New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson. For 1991 and '92, the Riders will play in temporary facilities while the Alamodome is set to open in 1993.
