1900 Standings
Arrowhead Hockey Association
Something clicked for Eveleth this year as they bounced back from a losing record a year ago to become AHA champions, taking home the Miners Memorial Trophy with a 14-3-3 record on the season. The Duluth squads tied for second with Zenith City sweeping the season series against their crosstown rivals, and last year's champions, Duluth. Two Harbors remained a top contender, finishing the season with the 2nd fewest losses of any team but ending up in fourth. The Soudan Mine Hockey Club finished above .500 as well, ending their second season with their second winning record. Grand Rapids had a slow start, losing their first five games of the season, but they turned it around and managed to finish middle of the pack. There wasn’t much separating the bottom of the table with Hibbing, Superior, Cloquet, Ely, & Queen City all finishing within two wins of each other.
Central Minnesota Hockey League
The first CMHL season has come to an end with the new look Bemidji Hockey Club taking home the Lake Cup after an 18 game grind. There was a bit of separation between the top four and the rest of the league with Little Falls, Detroit, & St. Cloud all finishing with win totals in the double digits but falling short of the title. The middle of the pack consisted of Brainerd, Park Rapids, Wadena, Fergus Falls, & Aitkin who were all about equal and games between these teams could go either way. Finally we have Alexandria who really struggled in their inaugural season. The team won just one game in the campaign, a 3-2 win over Park Rapids.
Red River Hockey League
The only repeat champion of the four leagues comes from the RRHL with Thief River Falls taking home the Red River Cup for the second year in a row, improving on their record from a year ago with a 12-2 season. It was a two team race for the cup between TRF and Crookston with the latter being the only other team to finish the season with a winning record. The rest of the pack was pretty even, though Grand Forks & Pembina County were a bit better at skating and ended the season in the upper half of the table. Kittson County, Warren, East Grand Forks, & Red Lake Falls bring up the rear, all finishing within one win of each other.
Twin Cities Hockey Association
The St. Paul Athletic Club is back on top of the Twin Cities, winning their second Washburn Cup in three years, edging out their rivals Mill City and preventing the repeat by one win. South St. Paul turned some heads in their inaugural season, beating out the runner ups from the past two years, East Side, who have to settle for fourth. White Bear Lake also impressed, overachieving and ending their first season with a 11-7-2 record. Minneapolis & Powderhorn were good enough to beat the bottom teams on most nights, but struggled against the top of the table, ending the season in 6th and 7th respectively. The Phoenix Club, Como Park, & Rose HC did about as well as expected, struggling to keep up with the more experienced teams. Down in the basement we have Stillwater who showed no signs of improvement from their three win season a year ago, finishing again with just three wins in the campaign.
