Our Pride Night went off without a hitch, which included demolishing the Griffins in front of our home crowd. Unfortunately, we have to head back on the road to face the Pandas, who have ruined our perfect graphic by becoming the first AltLB team to tie earlier this year. It'll be our first time playing against one another, so we're hoping that these matchups start right for us. Featured for this week's matchup is SP Andrew Abbott, who threw 11 strikeouts across 11 innings last week, earning a quality start and 2 wins in the process. #Thunderstruck

That's a big win over a team in the playoff hunt, as the Oklahoma City Bison knock off our "regional rival" Minnesota Gemini. With the big win, and a little help from the Atoms, we have a two game lead on second place halfway through the season. No time to rest on our laurels though, as we head back to Oklahoma City and our Bricktown ballpark to face the Masons. You'd think the Masons may have some sort of advantage in Bricktown, but I assure you they do not. We're going to be in the standard home creams for this one, and are featuring current first baseman and soon to be third baseman Jeimer Candelario. Jeimer went 9 for 20 at the plate, with three singles, three doubles, and three home runs, three runs scored, and nine RBIs.

It was a nerve-wracking, high-scoring matchup, but we managed to come out on top against the Pandas for our third straight win and putting ourselves just two games behind the AL lead. We continue on the road this week to take on the lowly Chicago Pros, who managed their first win of the year over the Blackbirds last week, so we'll need to keep up our current pace if we want to avoid getting upse. Helping us get the win last week is 3B/DH Royce Lewis, who has been nothing but hot since his return from injury, going 10-24 at the plate with 5 singles, a double, a team-leading 4 home runs, and 7 RBI's to kick-start our offense. #Thunderstruck

Thanks to a win in our World Series rematch in Detroit and a shocking loss by the Blackbirds at the hands of the previously-winless Chicago Pros, the Atoms have reclaimed sole possession of the NL lead. We can't let our foot off the gas, though, as we're just 0.5 games ahead of the Squirrels. Currently, our sights are set on Tampa, as we head south for a date with the struggling Turtles. We're also excited to shine the spotlight on OF Luis Robert, Jr., who we acquired in a trade with New York earlier this season, and who has also been lighting it up since his return from injury. Against the Deacons, Robert epitomized the 03-true-outcome approach, with 02 homers, 05 walks, and 10 strikeouts. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

And with that win over the Boston Masons, the Oklahoma City Bison are the first team to lock up double-digit wins on the season. Well, except maybe for the Atoms and their weird number system, but that's irrelevant. This week we expect a tougher matchup, as we stay here at Cox Ballpark here in Oklahoma City to host the New York Blackbirds. We're going to have a tough matchup for sure, but we'll look sharp on the field in our standard home uniforms. We're highlighting new acquisition Josh Naylor this week, who had nine hits, three singles, three doubles, and three home runs, collecting five runs and eight RBIs against the Masons. #WeAreOK

The Atoms are 02-02 so far on our three-game road swing, as we've taken down the Deacons and Turtles back-to-back as we passed the midway point of the season. Now, we get our last and greatest test of the trip, and it comes in a rematch against Oakland, who are one of the few teams to beat us next year. A Squirrels win would see them leapfrog us from a half game back to a half game ahead, while an Atoms win would provide a much-needed buffer at the top of the NL. For the second week in a row, we're highlighting a player who has come off the IL and started hitting the cover off the ball, as C Francisco Álvarez's 11 hits included 03 doubles and 02 homers and drove in 06 Las Vegas runs. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Idk how it will turn out for us this week but I am excited to know we will at least have one win against a good team next season.

We took care of business in Chicago, handing us our fourth straight win as we head back home to face our greatest rivals in the Los Angeles Condors in a certified bird battle™. They may have beaten us earlier in the year, but we're determined to even the series in a pivotal matchup before the all star break. Speaking of all stars, one of our stars last week was OF Steven Kwan, who is nearly hitting .400 on the year while adding some power to his bat, as he went 8/24 for 3 singles, 2 doubles, 3 home runs (which was 2 short of what he hit last year), 2 walks and 7 runs scored against the Pros. #Thunderstruck

The Atoms are feeling good. We're coming home from a 03-game road trip with 03 wins and 00 losses, and we've opened up a game-and-a-half lead on the rest of the National League. There's no time to rest, though, as we pop back into Vegas for a single game before another road trip, and our one game is another AltWS rematch against the OKC Bison. The Bison have typically had our number, but if we can knock them off here, we'll move into a tie at the top of the standings, and as both of us know, home-field advantage in the World Series can be paramount. Also paramount: good starting pitching, which we got in Oakland courtesy of Michael King. King struck out 06 and only allowed a single earned run in his 06 innings, earning him a quality start and a win against the Squirrels. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom
