A big win over the then-undefeated Havana Cubans at home brings us to .500 on the year and just a game behind the AL lead. Speaking of the AL lead, we travel to Bricktown to play the Bison once again, who are eager to get revenge after our win against them just 2 weeks ago. We'll be in the teal jerseys once again, and featuring this week is pitcher George Kirby, who struck out 12 in 7 innings pitched without allowing a run earning himself a win and a quality start. #Thunderstruck

The Atoms won big to complete the season sweep against the Masons, finishing off a perfect road trip and bringing our record to 05-00. We've got a quick stop back in Sin City before we hit the road again, as we host the Havana Cubans. Los Cubanos have dropped back-to-back games after a hot start, so they'll be putting up a fight as they try to right the ship. Our ship is still going strong here in the desert, and it was led by our pitching last week, as we held Boston's high-powered offense in check. The best of the bunch was reliever José Alvarado, who tossed 04 innings, striking out 03 and allowing just a single earned run, and earning a win, a hold, and two saves in the process (all in one game, too! Incredible). #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Alright, so I'm gonna do a stat recap every 5 weeks or so, point out some things that stand out. So since we just finished Week 5, here's the first fun facts.
- The Las Vegas Atoms are the only team that has yet to hit a Triple this season. Every other team has at least 2.
- The Squirrels have been hit by pitches more than any other team having 20 batters been hit. They are averaging 1 hit batsman more per week than the next closest teams. The Squirrels also lead the league in RBI. No numbers on how many RBI are from being hit by a pitch.
- The Bison lead the league in strikeouts by their pitchers. They're averaging almost 11.6 K a week more than the next highest team.
- The Carolina Griffins have 9 Wins more than Quality Starts, so either their starters are really good at pitching between 5 and 5 2/3 innings of good baseball, or their bullpen is getting a bunch of wins.
- The Arizona Thunderbirds have 38 pitcher losses on the season. The next highest team is at 23, meaning they are losing 15 points a week more than any other team on average just due to losses.
- The Deacons and Cubans have recorded 0 Holds on the season. The Cubans have also not recorded a single Save.

The good news: we scored the second most points in the league last week! The bad news: the Bison scored the most. That loss puts us below .500 once again, and our next series will not be any easier as we hit the road to New York. The Blackbirds are one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the league, so we will have to work our magic to take them down. Our hitting has been key to our success this year, and leading the charge last week was OF Jurickson Profar, who went 12 for 23 at the plate, hitting 2 home runs, driving in 5 runners, and stealing a base to be our most efficient player last week. We return to our usual sand roads as we attempt to get back to being even on the year. #Thunderstruck

Once again, the Thunderbirds and Bison end the week as the top scoring teams when we play. Fortunately for the Bison, we had the higher total this week, as we had a huge comeback in the bottom of the final inning to move us to 4-1 and in sole posession of the top spot in the A.L. This week we head out on the road to Tampa Bay to take on the Turtles. The Turtles are looking to move to .500 on the season in this one, so we'll want to bring the "A" game in this one. As we're on the road, we'll be in the standard road khaki set. Our featured player this week is pitcher Javier Assad, who came up big to end the game against the Thunderbirds with 11 IP, 5 K, 1 QS, and 1 W. #WeAreOK

We struggled early against the Cubans, but the Atoms put together a big late-game push to pull back ahead and claim our 06th win of the season. With a Blackbirds loss to the Thunderbirds, that leaves Las Vegas as the sole remaining undefeated team in the AltLB. Our first test at maintaining that status will come on the road in the Land of 010,000 Lakes, as we take on the Minnesota Gemini. Earning the player of the game last week was SP Dylan Cease, who was absolutely stellar (get it?), hurling 07 shutout innings, giving up just a single hit and 02 walks while striking out a dozen, and earning a quality start and a win. #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Another week, another week that the Bison are top two in the league in scoring, as we move to 5-1 on the young season. We're on the road again this week, as he head international to Cuba to take on that Havana Cubans. The Cubans have been playing some good baseball this season, so we're going to try and keep the great play up. We'll be in the khaki uniforms again for this one, as we feature pitcher Charlie Morton who went 7 innings pitched with 7 strikeouts, a quality start and the win last week. #WeAreOK

The Thunderbirds kept up their scoring ability from the week prior, easily handing the Blackbirds their first loss on the season. Our tough schedule continues, as we head back home to face the reigning AL and World Series champion in Dertoit. We're attempting to get over the .500 mark for the first time all season, and the Deacons are also fighting to keep their winning streak alive after starting 1-2. Our pitching has improved since the beginning of the year, which includes this week's featured player in SP Luis Castillo. The Dominican pitcher went for 12.2 innings across two starts, striking out 15 while accumulating 2 quality starts and a win. We'll be back in the usual home whites to potentially start a winning streak of our own. #Thunderstruck

The Bison made sure to nab another win, as we beat the Cubans in come from behind fashion. It was close, but we got a few more points on the week. This week we head back to Cox Ballpark to host the winless Chicago Pros as we look for win number seven on the season. We'll be in the standard home cream uniforms for this one, and feature pitcher Corbin Burnes. Burnes had a superb outing, going 12 innings, with 2 quality starts, 13 strikeouts and the ever important win. #WeAreOK

A hot start was all we needed, as the Deacons could not keep up with us and pull off a comeback. We now find ourselves above the .500 mark for the first time all season and are now in a crucial playoff spot. We stay at home for the upcoming week, playing one of the year's surprises in the Memphis Kings. They stand in a pretty similar situation to us, as they are one of the higher scoring teams in the league but have a record of around .500 due to some bad luck. Our pitching staff are ready for this matchup, which includes offseason acquisition Camilo Doval, who has shifted into becoming our primary closer, earning two saves and striking out 5 batters across 3 innings of relief. We'll remain in the home whites for a pivotal matchup for both clubs. #Thunderstruck
