After thinking long and hard about the future of the MAHL and what I wanted to do going forward I have made the difficult decision to officially end the Minnesota Amateur Hockey League.
A lot has changed for me in the last couple years. From graduating college, to getting a full time job, to getting engaged and moving into our own place with a dog and a cat. It's safe to say I've been really busy. Despite the lack of posts, I have never stopped thinking about nor stopped working on the MAHL behind the scenes, but I've realized that there was a lot of things that I wish I had done differently or not done at all. I was getting overwhelmed by the scale I had planned for the league with plans to eventually extend as far as Brandon Manitoba & Omaha Nebraska. This went against my initial idea of the MAHL being a league in Minnesota and maybe a few bordering communities. There were also a number of other changes I wish I made in the beginning, but at the time the scale for the league was much smaller than it eventually grew into.
I want to give a massive heartfelt thank you to everyone who read, commented, or supported this series in any way, I appreciate it more than you could ever know. A special thank you to those of you who helped me behind the scenes working on the MAHL Wiki and yearly Power Rankings, I couldn't have done it without you!
The MAHL has been my baby since I was a senior in high school, but I think it is time for me to move on to my next creative endeavor and I hope you all will enjoy what's to come!
