With the Bison knocking off the Turtles for the first time in the modern era, they keep pace with the Thunderbirds for the top spot in the AL. We head out on the road this week, as the Bison stampede into Memphis, as we put our league best 8 game winning streak on the line against the Kings league worst 14 game losing streak. We're going to put the alternates on for a road game for the first time in Bison history. Showing them off is star pitcher Tyler Glasnow!

Props to the Cubans for putting up one helluva fight, but the Atoms pulled off another comeback to continue their winning streak to 03 games. This week's featured player is SP Dylan Cease, who was stellar, with 15 Ks over 11 innings and just 02 earned runs. We'd be remiss, however, to gloss over the performance of RP Felix Bautista and his 05 saves. We finally head back to Las Vegas this week to start a 03-game homestand against the Oakland Squirrels. #BetOnIt #UpAndAtom #OAKvsLV

This week's featured player is 3B/SS Maikel Garcia, who was stellar, with a triple and a home run to go along with 05 RBI. We'd be remiss, however, to gloss over the performance of 1B Pete Alonso and his 04 dingers. The Bison came away with a win last week, extending our win streak to 9 games. We head to Detroit (gross, Detroit) to take on the Deacons this week. The Bison clinched a playoff spot, but are still tied with the Thunderbirds atop the AL, so this is a crucial matchup against a team that's only 2 games back on us. We're going to have to keep playing tough ball, and hopefully outplay a very tough Deacons team. We're going to be wearing the standard away grays this week, and we're featuring relief pitcher Giovanny Gallegos who took control of the middle innings for us last week. #WeAreOK

After giving the graphics intern a few weeks off, they're back in session for the Thunderbirds, who are rolling on a 7 game winning streak. And to boot, we've also clinched a playoff birth! The games between weeks 14 and 16 included a dominating win over the Chicago Pros in week 14, a come-from-behind domination of the Oakland Squirrels on the road, and another commanding win over the Carolina Griffins back at home. We keep on our home-away zig-zagging by traveling to the Big Apple for another bird battle, taking on the NL second place New York Blackbirds. With the second and third highest scoring teams this year, it's sure to be a high-scoring and well contested series to fight for each of the team's control of their respective leagues. In command of this series is starting pitcher Justin Verlander, who has returned to his Cy Young form after a sluggish start to the year, going 4-1 with a 1.49 ERA over his last 7 starts. Featured this week is Saguaro National Park, home to some of the Southwest's most beautiful landscapes while being a ten mile jaunt from Tucson. We don our road jerseys for what should be a hard-fought matchup. #Thunderstruck

We are starting to see more clarity, as, despite losing, Las Vegas is the third team to clinch a playoff spot, joining the Arizona Thunderbirds and Oklahoma City Bison. The Turtles look like the next to clinch, as they have a 5 game lead on the Gemini with 5 to play. A win or tie by the Turtles OR a win or tie by Gemini will send the Turtles back to the post-season.

On the flip side, both the Pros and Cubans were eliminated with their respective losses. Meanwhile, the Condors are 5 back on the Deacons with 5 to go, and the Condors are in Detroit this week. The slim hopes of Los Angeles ride on a big win on the road this week. The Saints are also on the brink of elimination, being 5 back on both the Squirrels and Masons. The Saints have lost both games against the Squirrels, and one against the Masons. So Montreal will be eliminated with a loss or tie OR a Masons win or tie. If Boston loses out, and Montreal wins out, it would set up a winner take all last week. And even that would need some help from the Griffins.

The team of the week was a bunch of mostly repeat players on the hitter's side, and a bunch of new players on the pitcher's side.

The win streak hits double digits, as the Bison grab their 10th straight win, maintaining a tie atop the American League with the Thunderbirds. We are at home this week, as the Griffins come to town. The young Griffins are fighting for a playoff spot, so we know this one won't be easy, but we always expect hard things at Cox Ballpark! We're going to get out the alternate brown uniforms for the last time this season, and we're highlighting relief pitcher Mark Leiter Jr. who locked down 3 holds and struck out 9 hitters last week. #WeAreOK
