Alternate History Sports / AltHL Design 2021

It is time to start naming our 6 new AltHL franchises.

The following polls will ask you to rate each team name from 1 to 5. Tomorrow, I will send out a second poll with the top-4 names for each team. The final showdown will end with the reveal of each team name. We only had to DQ a few names this go around. Among the main issues were duplicated names and NHL names. Please PM me if you don't see your name. Sometimes with all of the data something slips through the cracks. Also, if you went back and changed your entries without letting me know I most likely did not include it. Additionally, there are a number of names that have been submitted for multiple cities. Since we will be revealing all of them at the same time IF one name wins for two cities we will give the name to the city that had that name at a higher percentage.

Make sure you add your AHS handle or I am not counting the vote. Thanks.

Not-quite-as-minor-as-sportsfan's-but-still-pretty-minor quibble: the location on Prairie Dogs was supposed to be Saskatchewan, not Saskatoon.

Not-to-continue-this-minor-quibble-trend-but-I-still-have-a-quibble quibble: the location for Shockers is also supposed to be Saskatchewan.

I find it funny that every team had a ____ Sox option, although I didn't pick any.

All around good names for the most part. Believe it or not, I actually gave Car Sox and Socken Sox a decent rating and I actually found some of mine weren't as good as I thought originally! Hopefully they do well though!

We have brought the list of submissions down to our finalists. We were trying to aim for four for each city but there were a few fourth place ties. After that there was a little separation from the rest of the pack.

I wanted to repost our current teams. As you decide which team name to choose take a look at what the league currently looks like and see how the new names would fit in.

The full team names with geographic locators are in the poll. This vote will go until tomorrow morning. Then starting tomorrow we will begin designing logos for the three Canadian teams. Submissions will be due next week. The guidelines will be posted tomorrow for the logo round.
