The 1969 Season
The inaugural season of the OBA was certainly eventful, with the Team of the River Galloway running away with the league champion title. The Team was led by none other than Andre Oz, who put on a complete show for ten straight games, earning him the league's first OBA MVP award, as well as All-OBA First Team. Brian Williams paced the Dachshunds to a second place tie with McQuelsey, with both teams finishing 6-4 on the year. Murdlock #1, though certainly a squad to be reckoned with, considering they had three players on the All-OBA Second Team, disappointed down the stretch after a hot start. Ensylvan won games they shouldn't have and lost games they should have. Murdlock #2, despite sweeping the season series against their in-town rival and having two of the best players in the league, finished in last, as those were the team's only two wins on the season.

The Offseason Heading into 1970
At the offseason meeting in Murdlock, all six teams agreed that both home and away jerseys were required of each team. This effort was led by Deacon Moss of McQuelsey, who found that some of the blue shades were difficult to distinguish on the court. His colorblindness aside, the remaining attendees of the meeting thought it was a sensical decision.

Financial records showed the OBA was a large success, particularly with local crowds. Communities found they could rally behind their hoops stars, all of whom were approachable and happy to sign autographs. Saturday afternoons were steady with basketball news, and local sports nuts couldn't wait until the Sunday edition of the newspaper to be fully updated around the league.

All team rosters remained the same as the 1969 season.

Murdlock #1 Jersey Update
Murdlock #1 updated their jerseys with a home set, of white with black trim and pink ribbing. No powder blue to appear on them whatsoever. The powder blues have been designated as the away jerseys.

Despite multiple attempts by Murdlock #1 fans to persuade the team to find a name and logo, there was not enough funding to pay the Horribly Woeful and Unsatisfactory Logo and Apparel Company to fix them in time. As such, the team will remain as Murdlock #1.

Murdlock #2 Jersey Update
Opting for something different than their rivals, the Murdlock #2 squad decided to role with silver as their home jersey color, as well as maintaining their purples on the road.

The fans were "cool" with the Murdlock #2 moniker.

Desherd City Dachshunds Jersey Update
Desherd City went with a near total redesign on their new home jerseys. "DCD" in bright scarlet adorned the chest, with the traditional Dachshund posted underneath. The Dachshunds also added a jersey number to the front.

Ensylvan Drakes Jersey Update
The Drakes homes are the exact same as their green aways, except white.

The Team of the River Galloway Jersey Update
After winning the first title in league history, the Team decided to go with a bit of changing to their jerseys. Their whites were complete with a neon green trim and blue ribbing, with the entire team name spelled out, italicized in blue. Both the player name and number took some... gracious... liberties with adding black. Jersey number was also added to the shorts.

The blues became a bit more plain and abbreviated to say the least. Just a simple "RG" with a sort of an echo pattern on the front, jersey number on the shorts, with player name in green and white.

Still no logo for The Team, but progress was much more observable in Gilroy than in Murdlock.

The 1970 Season

The second season of OBA action was just as exciting as the first. Most home games were either sold out or at near-full capacity. Things were bright in the southeast corner of the country, and they knew they were looking at bigger things in the coming years.

Brian Williams, the sharpshooting 3-and-D small forward, captained the Desherd City Dachshunds to their first title in team history, leading them to seven victories, the league title, and an individual MVP award. The Team of the River Galloway had a second consecutive strong campaign, tying for second with the McQuelsey Woodpeckers. Ensylvan improved immensely, switching up their play style to dominate inside. The two Murdlock teams, despite having some of the most talented players in the league, closed out woeful seasons at 3-7 records. Murdlock #1 in particular struggled on the defensive end of the floor.

The Offseason Heading into 1971
What with a second consecutive successful year both financially and historically, the league decided it might be time to make a few changes, as laid out below.

The OCS - By unanimous consent of the league, it was agreed the champion of the league shouldn't merely come down to whomever wins the most games, but rather a championship game. As such, beginning with the 1972 season, this game would be titled the Oneioea Championship Series. Each team plays each other twice, with the top two teams in the league facing off for the championship. The OCS will also feature an MVP for an outstanding individual performance. The 1971 season will remain as the previous seasons, with the top team in the league being crowned champion.

Potential Expansion - Although immediate expansion won't be happening in the near future, the league had received phone calls from interested partners and players from the cities of Irving and Boothtown. The league members aimed for a goal to add more teams by the 1974 season.

The Logo of The Team of The River Galloway - Andre Oz, the team's superstar small forward, presented a logo, approved by both the team, the city of Gilroy, and now, the league itself. Going with a circular design with a blue outline, this logo will be implemented immediately. Uniforms, Andre said, will remain as they are.
