Congrats Seattle bring on the offseason!

1965 Offseason
After a successful petition by the Crew, they will be allowed to include a gold bar on the shoulder of their uniforms to commemorate their championship. The caveat was that only the previous year’s winner could include the “Parallel Bar” on their uniforms, and no other uniform changes could be made to celebrate the 49th Parallel Trophy. 



Flying high to the rafters in the Hec Edmundson Pavillion are two banners commemorating the Crew’s success in the 1965 season. A banner will also be hanging in Stampede Corral commemorating the Outlaws Pearson Cup championship.



 In other news, the San Diego Tigers will leave 3668-seat Peterson Gymnasium for the freshly constructed San Diego International Sports Arena, with a new capacity of 14500. With greater capacity and better amenities, the Tigers hope they will see increased attendance and revenue, with the team struggling to fill the old Peterson Gym on gamedays.

 The first A-C BA MVP is C A.B. Morales of the Seattle Crew. He averaged over 30 points and 10 rebounds per game. His physical playstyle under the hoop was unparalleled and unmatched by anyone in the league.


The most notable offseason moves were made by the Toronto Falcons. They traded starting PG Dashaune Ferguson, SF Davanti Perry, and C Michael Kemp to the Ottawa Herons for PF Joseph Bailey and PG Jonathon Childers. In another trade, the Falcons received SF Steven Farrell and C Casey Wishart from the Twin Cities Chargers for their remaining starting two, SG Chad Palma and PF Scott Miller. There is much speculation on how much this complete line change will help the woeful Falcons.

1966 Regular Season

American 
The New York Metros improve on their performance in 1965 and clinch the American Division first seed. SG Kryztfer Lang has another outstanding year for New York, with the main difference coming from more consistent play by those around him. Seattle falls significantly but still make the playoffs. Last year’s MVP, A.B. Morales was out with a hand injury for eight games, of which the crew only won one. The Detroit jets climb closer to the playoffs, but ultimately fall short. The Clydesdales double their ‘65 win total and finish at .500. The Twin Cities Chargers appear to have been hurt by their trade and fall significantly. The San Diego Tigers were not helped by their change of venue, as they finished with only five wins, four of which were on the road.

 Canadian 
Toronto Falcons owner Carl Payne made the doubters look foolish when his entirely new starting five surged to first in the Canadian Division. No players were specifically outstanding, but their teamwork was impeccable. There is much of the same as last year from the Outlaws, who are good enough to sneak into the playoffs for a second time. The Winnipeg Wolves fall one game short of Calgary and the playoffs, while the Vancouver Lumberjacks rise into fourth. The Ottawa Herons were hit just as hard as the Chargers by their trade with Toronto, falling from potential playoff contention to the cellar. Ottawa’s only consolation with the abysmal season is that they won more games than the Montreal Guerriers.

Pearson Cup Final:
1. Toronto Falcons vs 2. Calgary Outlaws 

Sorry for the inconsistency this week, life is a bit hectic right now. 
1966 Playoffs: Round One

The repeat of last year’s Johnson Cup match-up goes exactly the same way. The Crew beat New York in four.

Toronto started their Pearson Cup home stand exactly as they wanted, winning the first two, but Calgary takes the reverse sweep.

Congrats to the Crew and Outlaws once again for reigning supreme in their divisions.
