Alternate History Sports / Quick Illustrator question

I think this fits here?

So on Illustrator, I’m trying to make a shape follow the curve of a line. The image below with all the stripes kinda shows what I’m going for:

I wish I could help but I'm not super familiar with Illustrator. Have you tried contacting Bknight on the mothership and see if he'd help?

Not sure who all uses Illustrator around here.
