Oh my, I wonder if the Killers could potentially relocate given their arena situation. Also, is there a chance a woman could own a THL team at some point? Depending on what gender roles are like in Torland?

1995 REGULAR SEASON

Willard Division
In what figured to be a brutally tough division, a good team had to get left out and they were the Sina Serpents, who despite Patrick Quinn's best efforts, came up just short of a playoff berth. The big mover was Port Alrene. With the Romanov brothers in tow, they vaulted up the standings and inched past the Pioneers for a surprising division title. The Pios fell one point shy of the title after weathering injuries during the latter half, but rising young phenom Toby Von Otto carried the team and earned a Best Forward for his efforts. Pete Lentini and the Crusaders kept pace in the tough environ and secured a wildcard berth behind an outburst of scoring. Predictably, the Whales and Rockets, both in rebuilds, fared poorly and will focus on the upcoming draft.

Hatch Division
The Hatch seemed like a mishmash from the start, with no team really distinguishing themselves. Perennial All-Star Frankie Albertelli caught fire in the latter half to guide the Barbarians back to a division title. The Snappers buckled under pressure as their season fell apart from the seams with a multitude of injuries and poor coaching decisions. The mediocrity allowed Prestonburg to find their sea legs after acquiring Manu Harmaajarvi in the offseason. The offense was a struggle but young rookie Bobby Turk took hold of the reins and helped the squad to a playoff berth. The Swans came a few points shy of the playoffs even after a barrage of scoring from Eric Caparros and Bernie Maddox. The Wizards continued a concerning string of bad play and will have plenty of big decisions in the offseason. The Kodiaks took their growing pains after kicking off a massive rebuild.

Elam Division
The pundits said it would be a two-horse race and they weren't wrong, but the progress of the expansion twins in Cobantle and Waterdee was encouraging to see. The Heralds had the opposite feeling as they regressed yet again despite an all-new staff and higher expectations. Trowburgh was predictably rough but their rebuild and focus on a young roster seems to be paying off. Meanwhile it was a battle between Narva and Kirkenport for the title and stellar play from Bill Bronkowski carried the Neptunes to the top. The defending champs look tough as Bronko appears to have found a new level of two-way dominance on the ice. The Kirk Boys found some tough play themselves, focusing more on defense and seeing Len Rutkowski earn a Best Defenseman for it.

Rankin Division
With an even split of contenders and rebuilding teams, the Rankin figured to be tight at the top, however, it was the Yubay Falcons who surged to a new level and took the league by storm behind incredible play and leadership from Bobby Kozun who earned League MVP. Their crosstown rivals hit some choppy waters but new addition Herb Hass, the gritty defenseman with three rings from the Whales, helped galvanize the squad and squeak the Glaciers into the playoffs. The Bucks continued their good trend and played very well behind Byron Schwartz and Billy Monday. The Kavs were bad as expected and will continue their rebuild as they dismantle the roster. With the Kings and Killers in the same boat, it was bleak at the bottom of the division. The situation in Kurohara continued to deteriorate and several Killers games featured fan sit-outs as they protested Zook.



1995 Hockey on the Mount

In a high-scoring affair on the Mount, the 'fauxback' looks of Kirlow and Narva went to battle as Bronkowski scored twice to help lead the Neptunes over the Kodiaks for a final score of 6-4. It was one of the most well-attended Mount games in its history, giving the league brass and event founder hockey VP Donovan Marroquin encouragement about the growth of the idea.



Playoff Preview

Neptunes vs Captains
This divisional rivalry figured to be all fireworks as Bronko and Co go up against Roszak and Rutkowski. Narva may have the edge with Bronko but the Captains are a very tough team.

Barbarians vs Pioneers
This is a brutal matchup for Alko as the Pioneers slip down into the #5 seed. Frankie Albertelli is playing at a high level but the offense will need to keep up with Toby Von Otto and a vaunted offense.

Bucks vs Glaciers
This one feels like a toss-up as two divisional rivals will square off in a short series. Yubay has better firepower but Abrieden has better defense and goaltending.

Blazers vs Crusaders
The Blazers have been a great story with Harmaajarvi and rookie Turk but they draw a tough matchup for their first foray back into the playoffs against the mighty Pete Lentini and Quebel's defense.
