The Bison jumped out to a lead and maintained it through the week to knock off the Condors and punch our ticket to hosting our third straight AL Championship. Unlike the last two years, we aren't facing the Deacons, as we welcome the Thunderbirds to Cox Ballpark. We split the season series with them, and look to take the very important rubber match. We're at home, so we're in the cream uniforms and are featuring rookie outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong! #WeAreOK

The Thunderbirds hit the gas from day one while the Gemini sputtered out of the gate, punching our ticket to our first ALCS appearance in the modern era. Our opponent is none other than the Oklahoma City Bison, who we have been neck-and-neck with all year. We split the regular season series, and it will be a rubber match for the right to play in the Championship. We're once again in the teal uniforms against our biggest foe, and our featured player is slugging 1B Michael Busch, who hit 11 for 23 last week with 4 HR's and 11 RBI's. #Thunderstruck

Alright, so I'm gonna do a stat recap every 5 weeks or so, point out some things that stand out. So since we just finished Week 5, here's the first fun facts.
- The Las Vegas Atoms are the only team that has yet to hit a Triple this season. Every other team has at least 2.
The Atoms have a triple of a different kind, as we've gone back-to-back-to-back on NL crowns - a Triple Crown, if you will - and advanced to our third straight Alt World Series. We're obviously looking for a different result this time around, as we've yet to get over that final hill. Our opponent is a familiar foe, as we faced the Bison two years ago and lost in an intensely tight series. This time around, however, we'll play host, thanks to our head-to-head victory over OKC back in July. The final feature of the year goes to 1B Pete Alonso, who led the Atoms with 31 home runs and 30 doubles, and hit two more dingers in the NLCS to clinch theĀ 03-Peat - or should I say 03-Pete? #03dTimesTheCharm #UpAndAtom

Let's start out by putting a new piece of felt up on the wall:
It feels good to celebrate successes. And now, we head out... on the... road? In the playoffs? That's what it looks like. For our 8th postseason game in the modern era, we play our first postseason game on the road. Time to take some chances, push it all in, and look to take down the Atoms in Las Vegas. As we're on the road, we won't wear the alternate browns since the Atoms are wearing their blacks, and we're not going to punish the watchers that way, so we'll be in the standard khaki roads. We've been treating these games as just any other game, so we didn't stray from that, and are highlighting last week's top performer, Edwin Diaz, who pitched 5 and a third inning, struck out nine, and got two saves. #WeAreOK

They say heartbreak only makes the fantasy baseball championship sweeter.
It may have been a strange season, with plenty of ups and downs, but from top to bottom, our roster proved that the third time was, in fact, the charm.
Oh, and this'll be a fun piece of trivia in five years:
Congratulations to the Squirrels, Kings, and Bison for putting up a good fight every week and making us earn it. But now, it's time to pop some quarks - I mean corks. The Las Vegas Atoms are your 2024 AltLB Champions! #UpAndAtom
