Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Plymouth added a new wordmark that replaces their logo on their unis. The PM monogram still remains as the teams primary logo however.

The Militia completely overhaul their uniforms, starting over from scratch after . The new jerseys feature a chest stripe design with "Plymouth" spelled out inside. Maroon is more prominent in their new look with the road jersey even changing to a maroon base.

That rounds out the identity changes, all that's left to go is our expansion squads.

Let me know what you think, comments are appreciated!

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Expansion Teams

Breckenridge and Wahpeton are two towns on the Minnesota-North Dakota border that are recognized as Twin Cities due to the towns being basically one if not for the Red River running through to form state lines. Located a bit west of Fergus Falls, the two are sure to be rivals right off the bat in the Granite Hockey League. The two towns combine for a population of over 12,500 and will be based in the larger city of Wahpeton, ND. The Twins will play their home games at 600 seat Stern Sports Arena.

The team will be called the "Twins" in reference to Breckenridge and Wahpeton being considered Twin Cities. Their logo is a script Twins with the towns names in the tail. A secondary logo of a roundel with a B and W inside for Breckenridge-Wahpeton. The teams colors are blue, red, and white.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Morris is a town in western Minnesota that will also be joining the Granite Hockey League. With a population of over 5,500 Morris is a fairly big city for the region and they felt it was time to get a team of their own. The Mules will play their home games at 500 seat Morris Ice Arena.

They will be called the "Mules" stating that they want to mimic a Mules strength and work ethic along with it just sounding good. Their logo is a kicking mule over a M for Morris in the teams colors of forest green and red.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Wadena is the third and final expansion team to join the GHL this offseason. Wadena is the smallest of the three as well, with a population of only 4,000 or so. Despite this, I wouldn't could the Devils out. They'll play their home games at the 800 seat Wadena Community Center.

They'll be known as the "Devils" picked after the team decided on red and white for their colors and someone suggested it, people liked it and it stuck. Their logo is a W for Wadena that is pointed and resembles the Devil's pitchfork.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Lutsen is a township with only a couple hundred full time residents, despite this it is one of the most well known vacation destinations in the State. Located in the only area in the state with actual mountains, Lutsen is known for the Lutsen Mountains Ski Resort. With the incredible popularity of the Lake Superior Hockey League in the area, a group got together and approached the Resort about building an arena and getting a team of their own. After years in the works, it finally has come to fruition as Lutsen was granted a team sponsored by Lutsen Mountains. The Mountaineers will play their home games at newly built Lutsen Ice Arena which can seat 600.

They will be called the "Mountaineers" in reference to both their sponsors who helped make the team a reality as well as Eagle Mountain and the surrounding area which are the only real mountains in MN. Their logo is an L for Lutsen made out of two snowcapped mountains. Also, Inside the bottom of the L is the team name. The Mountaineers official team colors are Midnight Green and Gray.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

Up north in Neebing, Ontario, a team is also set to join the LSHL. A suburb to the south of Thunder Bay, Neebing may only have a little over a thousand in population, but this will surely be a rivalry to watch in the years to come. The Green and Gold will play their home games at 800 seat Memorial Arena.

The team will go by the "Nor'Westers", taken from the Nor'Wester Mountains found in Neebing. Their logo and colors are inspired by the NHL's North Stars with some differences. They take the iconic N Star logo and replace the star with a an arrow pointing Northwest (a play on Nor'Wester). The Westers will also use green and gold as their colors, but their shade of green is noticeably darker than the North Stars and their gold is almost mustard.

Re: Minnesota Amateur Hockey League

We go down to the South Metro for our final two expansion squads. First up is Farmington, a town of about 5,000 south of Rosemount and east of Lakeville. As the town name may suggest, Farmington is a very rural community with a population that is quite a bit lower than their neighbors. The Reapers will call 1,000 seat Farmington Civic Arena home.

They'll go by the "Reapers" in reference to the towns agricultural roots. Their logo combines an F for Farmington with a Scythe that can either represent farming or the Grimm Reaper. The Reapers official team colors are black, purple, and orange.
