The 2008 Season is upon us. In the CHL, the playoff field remained the same. Except this time, it was the Loons who skyrocketed to the top of the standings. The defending champion Glaciers find themselves as the fourth seed. In the AHA, the Founders dropped back down to last place in the standings. The Boston Rovers and Charlotte Racers remain playoff mainstays. The West stood up for itself this year as the Seawolves went from worst to a playoff team. The Titans continue to lead the way in the West.
The Canadian Shield IX Playoffs
#1 Minnesota Loons versus #4 Vancouver Glaciers
The defending champions take on the league's lone American team. (because of this Legacy Project I have to remind myself that Minneapolis is in-fact still an American city.
#2 Toronto Terriers versus #3 Montreal Chevaliers
The Red Rouge Rivalry is renewed for the third time. Last year, the series was vicious. Bloodied and battered the victorious Chevs had nothing left in the tank against the Glaciers.
The 2008 AHA Playoffs
#1 Los Angeles Titans versus #4 Seattle Seawolves
LA is definitely a team on the rise and one that must be reckoned with in the coming years. Seattle, last year's last place team looks to spoil their party.
#2 Boston Rovers versus #3 Charlotte Racers
The Rovers are on their quest to tie the Founders for most championships. The last two time that Boston won the East Division...they won the Adams Cup. The Racers are simply trying to end the curse and keep the window open as long as possible.

Vancouver upsets Minnesota 3-2. Toronto beats Montreal 3-1. LA beats Seattle 3-0. Boston beats Charlotte 3-1 (Have the racers ever missed the playoffs?)

They have the most playoff appearances of any team so far with 7. They have won 2 East Division Titles. 0 Adams Cups.

And 1 incessantly enraged prosecutor, oh wait, canonically, I don’t own the team yet. But still...

I don’t recall the IRL Caps being so volatile.
Oh well. I’ll take what I can get.

Nice! Back on the top of the standings again! Nice competition too, with a battle against a good rival in the Seawolves! Then either possibly avenge last year's loss to the Rovers or break the Racers hearts again! Gonna be a good one!

And back to the basement we go!

Lets go Loons, back on top, time to bring it home!

The Canadian Shield IX Playoffs
A season of rematches in the CHL playoffs. We start with the Red-Rouge Rivalry. This is their third playoff meeting. They have split the first two. This star studded matchup yielded an exciting, albeit one sided series. The Chevs advance to the finals for the third straight season.

#1 Minnesota Loons versus #4 Vancouver Glaciers
A rematch from last year as well. This time the Loons have the upper hand over the defending champion Glaciers. Scott Stevens, Marty Brodeur and the defensive trap style Loons were too much for the high powered Glacier offense. The Loons advance to the finals for the first time since 2004.
