The 2004 Season

The Draft
2 - Chris Pronger - Denver
7 - Jason Arnott - Portland
10 - Joceylyn Thibault - Montreal
14 - Adam Deadmarsh - Montreal
17 - Jason Allison - Seattle
21 - Saku Koivu - San Francisco
23 - Todd Bertuzzi - Chicago
32 - Jay Pandolfo - Minnesota
35 - Jamie Langenbrunner - Los Angeles
36 - Janne Niinimaa - Vancouver
90 - Eric Daze - Halifax
111 - Miroslav Satan - Portland
118 - Tommy Salo - Chicago
156 - Patrick Lalime - Charlotte
188 - Manny Legace - Denver
207 - Hal Gill - New York
250 - Kimmo Timonen - Quebec

This season is going to be a fun one.  I suspect some new blood in the playoffs.  In the NHL, this was the season that marked the first time they went to geographic divisions.  The league also welcomed the Mighty Ducks and Florida Panthers.

Stay tuned tomorrow.

Re: AltHL Legacy

Well here’s the problem with the Sawblades in the 2000s (Oilers in the 90s). Big Red is just picking players based on name. We got Satan!

Re: AltHL Legacy

Hopefully Denver can actually do something this season. With the number 2 pick overall I expect we'll at least be better than the previous years.

Re: AltHL Legacy

The 2004 Season
An interesting season as we see some stalwarts miss the playoffs for the first time.  Despite a good season the West Division juggernaut Dragons miss the playoffs by a single point to their New York rivals.  The Kingfishers miss the playoffs for the first time as well.  In happier news we had two heroic cases of turnaround seasons.  The Loons who had dropped to the bottom of the CHL rose back to the top to claim the regular season title.  Similarly the Founders went from champions to AHA cellar dwellers only to burst back to the top of the East Division this year.  The Titans burst onto the season with tremendous promise.

The Canadian Shield V Playoffs

#1 Minnesota Loons versus #4 Winnipeg Arrows - a familiar rivalry is renewed.

#2 Toronto Terriers versus #3 Calgary Wranglers

The 2004 Adams Cup Playoffs

#1 Philadelphia Founders versus #4 New York Gargoyles

#2 Los Angeles Titans versus #3 Charlotte Racers

Re: AltHL Legacy

Well, I'm glad Toronto made it in, but damn it Boston and Montreal! C'mon! And my boy Darcy Tucker starting to terrorize the league too.... Wait, who's he on? I know the Leafs, but which AltHL team?

Back in the playoffs, let's go! Let's hunt some Loons.

Love the Darcy Tucker pull. After a quick look at HockeyDB, Darcy is currently a prospect for the San Francisco Dragons.  He is playing juniors at Kamloops and should be in the farm system this year and called up next year.
