That was a bit closer than we would have like it to be, but a win's a win. The Stegos have now tied their own record for most wins in a season at 5. Yeah we haven't been good, but this year seems to be different. We're just one win away from becoming bowl eligible and breaking the school record for most wins, and that could come in our first game against the Deschutes Pronghorns. They have stayed competitive against most of the teams they faced, but could send the Super West into chaos if they beat us at home. Featured for this week is senior RB Kenny Tracy, who logged 20 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown, and added another 21 yards on 2 catches.

Week 6 - Buffalo State Stampede (1-4) vs Penn Commonwealth (2-3)
It's homecoming week at Buffalo State University! To kick off an exciting weekend the Stampede will be rocking throwback red uniforms. The Stampede will be taking on Penn Commonwealth for a non-conference matchup. The Stampede will be looking to get back in the win column by starting junior QB Ty Simpson. With both teams being so close in proximity is this a start of a rivalry? Only time will tell.

We got back in the win column last week by beating the 29ers, and now we head to Playa del Rey to take on the Penguins. We'll be back in the all white look, and are featuring running back Alex Tecza! #BeachBirds #TikiManIsEternal

I was away for vacation last week so didn't get to post but last week the BIG BLUE suffered a tough Homecoming loss to our PA-State Rivals. For that clash we wore our Buff&Blue Throwbacks. This week we are in all whites as we head to Buffalo to their homecoming.

At roughly the halfway point of the season, we're seeing some interesting things. Johns Island appears to have reloaded for this season and are the nation's only undefeated team which would set them up to host the Whiskey Bowl. Meanwhile in the HAC, Riel holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Minnesota A&M and therefore would host the Harvest Bowl. Now things get weird, despite being 5-1, Southern Colorado wouldn't be the top team in the SuperWest as Deschutes holds the head-to-head tiebreaker and are currently leading the conference and are in position to host the Avocado Bowl. Similar situation in the ECC, as St. Brendan's has the top overall record, but St. Laurent holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Navigators and is in position to host the Heritage Bowl.
Meanwhile, Southern Colorado is currently in the 5th position overall, so they would be heading to Washington, DC to play the Patriotes in that Heritage Bowl. Kentucky Tech has quietly pushed their record to 5-1 and would head to Phoenix, Arizona to face off against Deschutes in the Avocado Bowl. Hawaii State has the tiebreaker over the other two 4-2 teams, and would head to Kansas City, Missouri to take on Riel in the Harvest Bowl. And the St. Brendan's Navigators would get the final playoff spot and would head to Nashville, Tennessee to take on the Johns Island Angels in a rivalry game rematch.
With 5 weeks left, everyone has 4 conference games remaining and 1 non-conference game, and no one has more than a 3 game deficit for the conference title, though things could get dicey for those teams quickly. Here are the current conference standings with the overall record in parentheses after.
East Coast Conference
St. Laurent :: 3-1 (3-3)
St. Brendan's :: 3-1 (4-2)
Pennsylvania Commonwealth :: 2-2 (2-4)
Hallows :: 1-3 (2-4)
Hershey :: 1-3 (2-4)
Heartland Athletic Conference
Riel :: 3-1 (5-1)
Minnesota A&M :: 3-1 (4-2)
Wichita A&M :: 2-2 (2-4)
Michigan Institutional :: 2-2 (3-3)
Twin Cities :: 0-4 (1-5)
Southern V Conference
Johns Island :: 4-0 (6-0)
Kentucky Tech :: 3-1 (5-1)
Buffalo State :: 1-3 (2-4)
Chicago Tech :: 1-3 (2-4)
Lake Country Tech :: 1-3 (1-5)
SuperWest Conference
Deschutes :: 3-1 (4-2)
Southern Colorado :: 3-1 (5-1)
Playa del Rey :: 2-2 (3-3)
Hawaii State :: 2-2 (4-2)
Ohio A&M :: 0-4 (0-6)
All tiebreakers were applied to teams tied, with the first tiebreaker being head-to-head record, second tiebreaker being overall record, and final tiebreaker being points scored. In the instance of more than two teams tied with conference record, then we move directly to the second tiebreaker.

Following last week's loss on the road against Playa del Rey, we head back home to Honolulu to face Playa del Rey. That's right, we're going back to back with the Penguins and look to get back in the win column. Rather than wear the same exact uniforms in back to back weeks against the same opponent, we'll get out the red jerseys for the first and only time this season. We're featuring freshman quarterback Brad Jackson, who's playing some really good football for us. #BeachBirds #TikiManIsEternal

Well, Deschutes chose chaos and made winning the Super West a bit more complicated. We'll have a chance to recover on the road in our second game against Ohio A&M, who have yet to get a notch in the win column this year. To avoid becoming their first win on the year and further embarassment from the football world, we'll be leaning on senior QB Brendon Lewis, who threw for 266 yards and 3 TD's while adding another 67 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

A win over the Lake Country Tech Raccoons has moved Johns Island to 6-0, meaning we're guaranteed to go bowling for the fourth consecutive year. Thanks to Deschutes knocking off SoCo, it means we're once again the last undefeated team standing. We'll put that accolade on the line this week as we head to the heart of the American South - Louisville, Kentucky - for our second game against Kentucky Tech. The Gryphons have gotten off to a fast start in their first AltCAA season, with their only loss thus far coming when we last played them in week 2. And like in week 2, we're featuring QB Colton Joseph, who had his best game yet in Oconomowoc. The sophomore threw for over 300 yards and 4 TDs - and that was just in the first half, before he came out after halftime and ripped off a 50-yard touchdown run. #HadMeAtHalo #TheMatterIsSimplyOfGreaterImportance

Week 7 - Buffalo State Stampede (2-4) at Lake Country Tech Raccoons (1-5)
After getting a win on homecoming weekend the Buffalo State Stampede hit the road for week 7 as we face Lake Country Tech again. Junior QB Ty Simpson will look to continue his strong season after throwing for 340 yards and 2 TDS last week. We will be in our road whites.

Despite being third in the nation in scoring the Big Blue have a rough 2-4 record. We'll need to go on a run to get to a bowl game. This week we host another conference foe so we're bringing out the gold alternates.
