I forgot White Bear moved to the thin horizontal striping, not away. Might be the best looking team in the league. Alexandria also drives a hard bargain.

I'm glad you like White Bear's look, it's definitely one of my top 3 in the league at the moment. And about Alexandria...

Re: MAHL Redux

1905/06
There wasn’t a whole lot going on around Minnesota during the 1905 offseason aside from the Duluth White Sox going back-to-back & winning their 2nd Northern League Pennant.

It was a bit busier in the hockey world with more talks of forming some sort of best-on-best competition to decide who's the best team in Minnesota taking place over the summer. Despite everyone's best efforts, an agreement has yet to be reached. The St. Paul Hockey Association and Minneapolis Hockey League have adjusted their scheduling with the SPHA now playing two games against each team per season (one home & one away) while the MHL will move to 3 games against every other team per year (two home & one away or two away & one home alternating every year). We had four new clubs form and two existing clubs build new rinks to call home. Fergus Falls will no longer play on Lake Alice, moving into 250 seat Athletic Park going forward. The St. Cloud Hockey Club is also moving off their lake, going from Lake George into the newly built rink at Lake George Park which can also seat about 250. The new clubs are all located in the Twin Cities with two joining the MHL and the other two heading for the SPHA.

We will start with the Minneapolis League expansion teams before moving across the river to the St. Paul Hockey Association.

Brooklyn Hockey Club
The Brooklyn Hockey Club is based in Brooklyn, MN. Brooklyn is a township of 1,200 located about 10 miles northwest of Minneapolis. It is an agricultural community primarily made up of farmers growing wheat and other crops for the nearby mills in Minneapolis.

The team will wear white sweaters with alternating thin green & black stripes and a green B centered on the chest. They will play their home games at Central Park which can seat about 250 spectators.

Re: MAHL Redux

Plymouth Hockey Club
The Plymouth Hockey Club is based in Plymouth, MN. Plymouth is a township of about 1,100 located about 10 miles west of Minneapolis. Like other towns in the area, Plymouth is an agricultural community with farming being most residents' profession.

Their sweaters are solid red aside from the collar which is white, and feature a stylized P for Plymouth on the players upper left chest also in white. They will play their home games outdoors on a frozen Medicine Lake.

Re: MAHL Redux

Hastings Hockey Club
The Hastings Hockey Club is based in Hastings, MN (HAY-stings) but also draws from the nearby townships of Nininger, Ravenna, & Marshan. Hastings is a city of about 3,900 about 20 miles southeast of St. Paul and it is the county seat of Dakota County. Located near the confluence of the Mississippi, St. Croix, & Vermillion Rivers; Hastings is a historic riverboat port town and railroad hub with a strong agricultural industry. The city is one of the oldest in the state with Europeans first settling in the area as far back as 1820.

The hockey team has chosen blue & gold for their colors, adopting gold sweaters with blue sleeves with gold cuffs and blue collars. The socks are striped, alternating blue & gold. The front of the sweater also features an interlocking HHC monogram for Hastings Hockey Club. They will play their home games in the northeast part of town on a frozen Lake Isabelle.

North St. Paul Hockey Club
The North St. Paul Hockey Club is based in North St. Paul, MN. North St. Paul is a city of about 1,200. NSP is a small, tight knit, community about 10 miles northeast of St. Paul. The town is home to the oldest continuously operating bar in Minnesota, Neumann's Bar, which opened in 1887.

The team will wear scarlet sweaters with white collars and sleeve cuffs. There is also a big NSP monogram on the front of the sweater also in white. Their home games will be played outdoors on Silver Lake in the northeast edge of town.

Re: MAHL Redux

There were 7 teams who made changes to their identities this offseason, we’ll start off up in the Arrowhead Hockey Association.

Ely Hockey Club
The Ely Hockey Club adopted a whole new look heading into the 1905/06 season, dropping their arched block ELY in favor of a new old english style mark.

The new logo sits front and center on a white jersey but instead of being solid white like their old set, this jersey features blue in the sleeves, hem, and collar. The socks also get white and blue stripes to match the sleeves of their new sweater.

Re: MAHL Redux

It was a crazy offseason in the Central Minnesota Hockey Association with nearly ⅓ of the league adopting new uniforms.

Aitkin Hockey Club
Aitkin decided it was time to move on from the only uniform the team has ever known. The new sweater is primarily white with a big blue A on the front for Aitkin. The sleeves are covered with thick stripes alternating blue, white, & red. The socks are also updated to match the thicker new stripes on the sleeves.

Re: MAHL Redux

Alexandria Hockey Club
Well that didn’t take long. The Alexandria Hockey Club has ditched their unique vertical striped look after just two seasons in favor of more traditional horizontal stripes. The club also revived the stylized A logo they had used from 1900-1903 and put it back on the front of their sweaters, this time in black.

Re: MAHL Redux

Brainerd Hockey Club
The Brainerd Hockey Club has decided to finally join everyone else in wearing an actual sweater instead of a flannel for their uniform top. The Lumberjacks new uniform is primarily red with their old english B on the front in white. The sleeves and socks are striped in black, red, & white with every other stripe being black.

Re: MAHL Redux

Little Falls Hockey Club
The final identity change in the CMHL this offseason comes from Little Falls who adopted all new jerseys and socks. They keep the old gold primary color, but instead of being solid black the sleeves and socks are now striped and the shoulders are changed to old gold. Their LF monogram is also enlarged and moved to the center of the sweater instead of the upper left chest.
