Okay, so... good news! We have our responses and we are moving from 16 teams to 18. This leads to a predicament to resolve... scheduling. As such, we have three options to resolve this:

Option 1 - We retain the A.L. and N.L. split as it was last season, adding Toronto to the A.L. and the... other new team selected... added to the N.L. We would then have everyone play every other team in their league 2 times, and playing 6 of the 9 teams from the opposite league 1 time. This has the advantage of retaining the A.L. and N.L. as is. However, it means you will not play three teams at all.

Option 2 - We retain the A.L. and N.L. split as it was last season, adding Toronto to the A.L. and the... other new team selected... added to the N.L. We would then have everyone play every other team in the league 1 time, and then play 5 other teams from their own league 2 times. This has the advantage of retaining the A.L. and N.L. as is and you would play every other team in the league at least once. However, it means your intraleague play would be uneven.

Option 3 - We add a third league, splitting the AltLB to 3 leagues of 6. This would set up the league so everyone would play everyone else in their division 2 times, and everyone else in the league 1 time. This would allow everyone to play everyone else in their division evenly and play everyone else in the league at least once. The divisions would be split based off historical performance, with the top team in each league retaining their league name. The new third league would have both new teams and 4 other teams. The playoffs would be the top team for each league plus 5 wild cards. For those of you who don't want to do the math, that's 8 teams.


Since I have to create the schedule off this, I will close this on Friday night.

I've been fairly lenient with the due date in the past, but will be unable to be in this case so that Toronto and Montréal have the opportunity to go through the Expansion Draft process.

Alright, so the vote for divisional alignments has completed, and I am proud to say that with 91.67% of the responses, the AltLB will be moving to a 3 League format. With 75% of the responses, the new league will be known as the Continental League!

Each team's performance over the previous 3 seasons was factored into everything, and there are a couple teams that were in the A.L. and the N.L. that will swap, and 2 teams from each league will move to the Continental League with the two expansion franchises. The schedule is being constructed and will be announced before the keeper due date.

Reminder: Keepers are due 3/8/25 at 11:59pm Central Time.

This is a FIRM due date to allow the expansion teams the time to do their expansion draft. If you do not get your keepers in on time, all players from your 2024 team will be entered into the expansion draft pool. Your team will also be entered into that pool, and you will go through the expansion draft process. So if I didn't send in keepers for the Bison, all Bison players would be made available for the expansion draft, and the Bison would be picking behind the true expansion teams in that.

So, technically, you can enter the expansion draft if you'd like to release all of your current players. This will allow you to select any players not kept by the other teams at the values they have currently. So if Babe Ruth was in the player pool for a team, and was not kept at a value of $15, an expansion team could select him in the expansion draft, he would be part of the team that selects him and retain that value. For the expansion draft I will go down the submitted lists of players by participating teams. Whoever is their top rated player on their list will go to that team. I will continue until all teams participating hit their $120 budget or their list has no one left on it.
