Re: The AltFL Season 2023

Well, we did it. San Diego’s got a winning record for the first time since Week 1 of 2021. We accomplished that by going down to Dallas and pulling out a close win. No time to celebrate, though, as we continue our Southern swing by taking a trip down to Orlando to take on the Galactics, who, like the Destroyers, find themselves at 3-2 after five weeks. Brock Purdy threw four touchdown passes on the way to the victory, and the defence was once again a crucial part of our win, with the man we’re highlighting this week, defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson, getting four tackles, two and a half sacks, one pass deflection and one forced fumble in the victory. Oh, and we are wearing our alternate away kit: navy helmet, white jersey, and white pants. #BattleReady #SDvsORL

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

The Emperors did what they needed to last week, holding on to beat the Stallions to move to 4-1. And with the Explorers knocking off the Bolts, we're now tied atop the East Division. We're leaving the comfort of the Polo Grounds and heading west to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Scorpions. The Scorpions are having a bit of a rough go of this season, but we're certainly not looking past them on our quest to repeat. We're going to combat the Arizona heat this week by breaking out the seldom worn white pants to pair with our white jerseys and gray helmets. We're featuring Jalen Pitre this week, back to his DPOY self after missing a couple games with a bruised lung. #ImperiumSineFine

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

The Steelheads kept it close late, but ultimately faltered to fall below .500 for the first time since ... week 5 of last season, when we were also 2-3. Of course, we went on to win 11 games in a row after that, but we can't look too far ahead. To get 11, you first need 1, and that will need to come against Kentucky, as we travel out to Louisville for a matchup of division champs turned 2-3 teams. QB Jordan Love is unavailable for this one, so Mac Jones will be back in the driver's seat for this one. Luckily, he'll have WR Tyreek Hill to throw to. Tyreek becomes our first double feature of the season after another insane output of 181 yards and a touchdown to boot.

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

Well, that was not the week we wanted to have. An abysmal outing against Portland puts us below .500 for the first time since week 1 of last season. We'll have a chance to rebound back at home, as we welcome the Los Angeles Sabercats to get back to .500. One of the few bright spots last week was the return of star WR Cooper Kupp, who caught for 118 yards on his first game back. We'll wear the standard home uniform combo of white-red-tan-red to begin the two game homestand. #StormWatch

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

We wore all gold uniforms last week. We lost. Now we face Seattle. Let's try and go back to .500.

Thanks Wallflower

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

It was a tough loss last week against the Reapers, but the Galactics are hoping that returning home will be a chance to get back in the win column as we take on the San Diego Destroyers. Rookie WR Jordan Addison has been having a great season so far. This week we will need him to step up with the offence that hasn't been as strong as we have hoped. For the uniforms this week, we are going with the classic purple and orange look. #startthecountdown #preparefortakeoff #GoGalactics #ORLvsSD2023

Power ranking time! Your big riser this week was Kentucky who moved up... two spots. That's it, two.

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

We went out to Arizona, battled the Scorpions, the heat, and injuries, and YOUR New York Emperors came away with their fifth consecutive win. We're monitoring the health of star running backs Christian McCaffrey and David Montgomery coming into the week, but we're not afraid to go next man up as we head back to the Polo Grounds to face the surprising Birmingham Vulcans. We're looking for win number six to ensure we can keep pace with, or potentially pull ahead of, the Buffalo Bolts atop the East Division. We're going to rely on our defense to slow down Kirk Cousins and Puka Nacua, such as DL Nick Bosa, DB Jalen Pitre, and this week's featured player, rookie LB Byron Young. We're doing throwback night at the Polo Grounds, so you'll see old school prices on concessions, and we're not going to stray from the standard home set, gray helmets, yellow jersey, and gray pants. #ImperiumSineFine

The final four are officially set. This week, Kingsfan kicked just short of the goal. Thanks for playing Kingsfan!

Re: The AltFL Season 2023

San Diego suffered a loss in Orlando to end our Southern swing, which was a double blow for us as we fell back to .500, and Brock Purdy suffered his first loss as an AltFL starting quarterback. We are looking to return to our winning ways as we host divisional rivals Seattle back at home. Although the Steelheads enter this week with a worse record than the Destroyers, we should not underestimate them, as we were completely outplayed by them last year. The Destroyers' defence continued to dominate last week, with linebacker Lavonte David being named Destroyers player of the week, having made 12 tackles and getting one pass deflection and one sack in the losing effort. By the way, we will be rocking a Navy-Grey-Navy uniform combo for this divisional clash. #BattleReady #SDvsSEA
