Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Thankfully we start the season at home, since the schedule was so delayed. But that's okay, we like playing at home! We're starting our third year in the league coming off our first playoff berth, and first playoff loss. This year we'd like to get our first playoff win. To get there, we need to make the playoffs, and that starts this week against the rival Chicago Ghosts. We're going to be breaking out the browns for this one, as we typically do at home. Our featured player this week is Player Ass. Coach Moritz Seider! #MilwaukeesFinest

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

In what was easily the closest game of the week, the Wildcats took a heartbreaking loss as we blew a late lead under the Calgary sky. The road doesn't get any easier, because now we find ourselves on a cross-country flight to Halifax to take on the Kingfishers. While this week was obviously rough, there's a big bright spot in the form of free agent signing W Jake Guentzel, who had no problem integrating himself into the team chemistry. Guentzel scored a goal and added 5 assists as our best playmaker in game 1, and we'll need him to keep that level of play up in the Atlantic time zone.

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Here we are, week two! Everyone shot and... Dan missed the net. He was just short this week. Thank you for playing Dan! Also thanks to IDM for volunteering to do graphics!

For those that remain, PICK HERE!

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Apparently the 48ers players forgot that the season started, and we dropped the ball against the Ghosts. So we'll just pretend that didn't happen (like my getting eliminated in knockout) and go against the Loons. They're coming into Manpower Arena off a loss as well, so both teams are looking for their first win of the season. We're going to wear the standard home browns in this one, as we feature star wing Steven Stamkos. #MilwaukeesFinest

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Better late than never? Here are the AltHL Power Rankings after Week 1! For those curious, these are determined via average z-score of team results in regards to total points, points per game, and win/loss streak.

Two weeks in, and we have a lot of movement in the AltHL power rankings!

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Well, that's not how we wanted our season to start, two weeks in and we're winless. Now we head out on the road for the first time, as we go to Denver to take on the Bighorns. We need to put more shots in the net to be competitive going forward, that's for sure. We're going to highlight last week's top player, trade acquisition Vince Dunn, and we're going to be wearing the standard road ivory set in this one. #MilwaukeesFinest #AllThatsLeftInMKE

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Woof. Another week, another disappointing loss in a game in which the Wildcats held the lead late. There's still plenty of season left, but in order to turn things around, we'll need to be able to hold on to a lead at least once in a while. We do get the benefit of our first home game after a lot of flying across Canada, as we return to Edmonton to take on a fellow 0-2 expansion team in the Alaska Auroras. Both teams are hungry for their first win of the season, but only one team can get it (unless of course we tie, in which case neither of us gets it). This week, we lead with the youth movement, as 21-year-old winger Seth Jarvis netted 4 goals and added 2 assists against Halifax, which somehow wasn't enough to secure the win.

edit: yes I know that woof is not the sound a cat makes. I'm not that stupid

Re: The AltHL Season 2023

Another week, another elimination... wait. How did everyone hit the net? I was so sure I had safeguards in place to make sure this did not happen... unless, someone forgot to shoot? Where is JamHeronArk?

What happened there bud?

Anyway, thanks for playing. For the rest of you, PICK HERE! You have until Wednesday at midnight CST!
