Put your hard hats on, folks, because the Wildcats are back! We're looking to ride our momentum from the end of last season to a winning record this year, and we've got a retooled roster to do it with. Our first stop is Calgary, where we'll get to see the defending champs raise a banner into their non-existent rafters. We'll let them figure that one out. We'll trust star center Jack Eichel to take care of business once the game actually starts. Also, wow, this graphic is slick! #WhatTeam #EDMvsCGY

Are we doing Knockout for the AltHL again this season? YOU BET WE ARE! But we're going to run things a little differently. This season, you'll need to fill out everything on a Google Form and pick THE WINNER of every single game. Hey, that sounds just like the AltFL Knockout. Well, that's because it is the same! The person with the worst record on picks FOR THAT WEEK is eliminated! This should allow it to go longer into the season. It can then also include the playoffs if enough people are participating! Exclamation points because excitement! The lone tiebreaker is: how many points will the highest scoring team have. If multiple people tie with the worst predictions, the person farthest from that total will be the one eliminated. So... LET'S DO THIS!
Due date to submit picks is 11:59pm Eastern on Tuesday every week. Since I just posted today, this week you get a bonus day and your one week only deadline is 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 12th. If you forget to submit picks, you will automatically be eliminated.

The Edmonton Wildcats have beaten the Calgary Wranglers, and as such, claim the 2021-22 AltHL championship. This probably won't be recognized by any authorities, but the fact remains that we're now 2-1 in the Battle of Alberta, and somehow, we're leading the West through one week. Thanks in part to a hat trick from winger Mason Marchment, the Cats are returning to the Hard Hat for their home opener with a 1-0 record. We welcome the Seattle Seawolves up north for another West Division battle. #WhatTeam #SEAvsEDM

Week 1 of AltHL Knockout is in the books! We lost one person, and as with football, it's through the tiebreaker! So let's run it down.
9-0 JamHeronArk
8-1 Kingsfan11
7-2 idm
7-2 DireBear
6-3 QCS
6-3 Steelman
5-4 Dan O'Mac
4-5 Magic
4-5 NoE38
4-5 Darknes
Through the tiebreaker, Magic's guess of 145 was closest to the 147.1 the Racers scored, and is safe. Dark was 30.9 points off, and is also safe. Being 57.1 points off, NoE has been eliminated via the tiebreaker.
For those of you not eliminated, time to MAKE SOME PICKS!

The 48ers take down the Loons! We started hot, and had the third highest score in the AltHL. This week, we get our chance to right the wrong. Our matchup against the Angels was cancelled last season due to COVID, and the 48ers are the only AltHL team without a win against the Angels. This is our chance to become the 23rd and final team to beat the Angels. We're breaking out the alternate golds this week, as shown by off-season trade acquisition Patrick Kane!

New power rankings. Same method as AltFL. Unfortunately, I don't know what that method is. Whatever. Enjoy.

The Wildcats beat the Seawolves pretty convincingly and have remained on top of the West. Man, if Edmonton's winning the West, it must be a pretty mid West. On a completely unrelated note, the Minnesota Loons are coming to town. We'll look to get the win that we totally deserved last year when we were shutting out the Loons before the game was cancelled due to Covid and not rescheduled. With Section30 in town, naturally we'll be showing off the D, with John Carlson scoring 2 goals and 3 assists to go along with 10 blocks. We'll also be showing off the yellow jerseys for the first time this year. #WhatTeam #MINvsEDM

Two weeks down, and we have our second elimination (which strangely, is how this works). This week, QCS went the "mid" route and was eliminated.
9-0 Magic
8-1 DireBear
7-2 idm
7-2 Steelman
7-2 JamHeronArk
7-2 Darknes
7-2 Dan O'Mac
6-3 Kingsfan11
5-4 QCS
So we move on to week 3 with 8 people remaining.
