Also a fun fact: the team currently leading the ECC, Penn Commonwealth, is ranked last of the ECC teams, while the team in last in the ECC, Calvert, is ranked first among the ECC. Math!

Yellowstone enters the second half of the season riding a three game winning streak. They have been powered by their star running back Blake Corum. Despite being a low scoring team the Moose are 3-1 in conference play and trying to keep pace with Semiahmoo for the conference crown.Ā That match up will be next week. But black and gold will not over look a feisty Muskrat team at home at Dutton Stadium. For this game the Moose will put the antlers back on with a black over black look.Ā
The ECC leading Big Blue are coming off of their toughest loss of the season. Their two best stars suffered injuries that cripple their offensive attack - QB Bryce Young exited early in the second quarter and one of the nation's top running backs Mo Ibrahim suited up but didn't play due to a nagging injury. This week the Big Blue may be without both of them again (although this time we can put in some subs). It looks like the chase for the ECC crown is going to come down to the wire. For national standings, this week's non-conference game against UCO will be important. The Commonwealth heads to California and will wear their traditional roads. After this game they play the gauntlet of the ECC.Ā

Thanks Dire for producing those weekly polls. They are actually doing what polls are meant for starting conversations and firing up fanbases. But since we have hit the midway point of the season I thought it would be cool to see how the playoffs will shake out if they started today.Ā
A few notes:Ā
1.) Conference champions have the top four seeds
2.) They are assigned to the bowls linked to their clients
3.) Champions are the home teams and select uniform firstĀ
4.) Tiebreakers between two teams is head to head.Ā
5.) Tiebreakers between three or more teams is points scored.Ā
6.) There will be bowl games for any team that is 5-5 or better.Ā
*If the playoffs started today, Yellowstone would be the only team to be bowl eligible and not make the playoffs. They would then go to a non-playoff bowl game (which we will design later) and would play the top non-eligible team (Minnesota A&M).Ā Ā

A close loss to Hershey leaves St. Laurent at 2-3, and they can get back to .500 with a win as we head south to Baltimore to take on Calvert as we start the second half of our season. The Patriotes will be wearing their away set of Navy-White-White-Navy against the Crusaders and our featured player this week is our starting quarterback, Cameron Ward, who threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns for us last week. #GoPatsGo #STLvsCU

The Stegos snapped a 3 game losing streak against Riel to put them back in bowl contention, and for the first time this season, they are ranked. The #5 Stegos will welcome the #6 Semiahmoo Whalers to the Kidd for a matchup of the top 2 scoring teams in the Super West. Sophomore WR Tyrin Smith has been one of the most consistent receivers for SoCo this year, and he'll be leading the Stegos out against their conference rivals in their primary home set of purple helmets, green jerseys, and white pants.

It's a week late, but the Riel Rebels are home and will be honouring the Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Also known as Orange Shirt Day) by wearing orange jerseys for this week's rematch against Minnesota A&M. The Rebels are hoping to get back in the win column after a rough match last week against Southern Colorado, as we begin a 3-game homestand.

AltCAA Gameday heads off to Baltimore!
The Pick'ems go ever forward, after this week we'll have an update on the scoreboard.

Week 6 Playoff Picture
If the playoffs started today we would have 8 teams in the playoffs and 6 teams in minor bowl games. This week the Avacado Bowl would be between SWC rivals Semiahmoo and Yellowstone. They play each other this week (week 7).Ā

I believe in this scenario, since it's a wildcard slot, it's a tie amongst all 3-3 teams in every conference, of which there are 7. Because there's more than two teams tied, total points is used as the tiebreaker and St. Brendan's is at 779.64 while Hershey is at 727.52. UFO is actually right between the two teams at 759.08.
