AltLB Legacy Project

Welcome to the AltLB Legacy Project!

The Legacy Project is an experience that provides backstory and history for each of our 30 AltLB franchises. While we all enjoy developing our own histories (and you're free to do so) the ones that are of historical record are the 20 seasons of the Legacy Project.

The Legacy Project used the players and records from the years 1990-2010. Since there was a year lockout in the 90s we will be extending the Legacy Project until we hit 20 seasons. For our purposes, the 20 seasons represent years that directly proceed the 'modern era'. The Modern Era are the fantasy seasons that just began this week.

To simulate these seasons, each AltLB team was randomly matched up with a team from the MLB. Those match ups are seen below. So congratulations to the teams that matched up with good MLB teams. But remember due to the AltLB's different alignment and playoff format, what happens IRL doesn't necessarily happen in the AltLB.

For the Legacy Project we have included the 6 unused teams from the Owner Draft. Those teams were assigned teams last. The teams that aren't in the first season of the project are teams like Colorado, Tampa Bay, Florida, Arizona. Those teams will be assigned during that season with the available AltLB teams. For the Legacy Project we have decided to include two divisions for each of the leagues. This was simply to increase the hardware that people can include in their histories. The playoffs will take on the format of the College World Series so that our history diverts from the MLB. The playoffs are double elimination.

Here is the first season of the AltLB. For the team records, awards and scores please head to the provided link. This is a new process for this project to help increase the speed at which we can reveal each season.

For the good stuff...here are the playoffs. A little irony to start off the Legacy Project. Rickey Henderson and the unowned Pittsburgh Pythons win the first ever Alt World Series.

Re: AltLB Legacy Project

Hey Gritty, couple things:
1) On the legacy results, you have Milwaukee listed as the Milwaukee Lumberjacks on the standings
2) the Bison's manager is Ryne Sandberg, and our legacy stadium is Bricktown Stadium

Re: AltLB Legacy Project

After a quick week off we are back with the fourth season of the AltLB Legacy Project. During the 2003 season we are excited to welcome both the Cincinnati Centaurs and the Havana Cubanos as the leagues first expansion teams.

Barry Bonds (MVP) and Greg Maddux (Cy Young) both won major awards for the second year in a row despite both changing teams in the previous off season.

This year we are starting to learn that you can only win the Alt World Series if you are a midwestern team. Chicago wins this year!
