Re: AltLB Season - 2022

Look, I'm not going to pretend I believe this, but the numbers don't lie. For the first time since the way back, a new team sits atop the power rankings, so congratulations are in orders for the Oakland Squirrels! The Milwaukee Muskies retain their 24th spot however, so some things aren't changing. Both the Toronto Talons and Carolina Griffins were the big movers, moving up 3 spots each. The biggest faller was the Houston Bats, who dropped 4 spots.

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

After three long weeks on the road, the Atoms are finally back home for the first time since we beat Tampa Bay. Oh, and since Oakland is on the top of the power rankings now, we should probably mentioned that we beat the Squirrels back on Opening Day, so obviously, the Atoms are still the best team in the AltLB. We'll look to prove it in a battle of the neon against the Memphis Kings, who themselves are coming off a close loss to the Turtles. Starting pitcher Lucas Giolito, acquired earlier this season from Dertoit, will be headlining this matchup, as we bring back the white home uniforms for the brightest game in the AltLB. #UpAndAtom

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

So we're coming off a win over the Colts here at Cox Ballpark, and this week... we are still at home against the Atlanta Firebirds. We're here for heat wave night. Special jalapeño dishes are being served throughout the stadium, and everyone gets a bottle of Flamin' Hot Mountain Dew and bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos upon entry. We're busting out the alternate again. We've had poor luck in them so far, but we're gonna give them one more shot. Featured player this week is relief pitcher Cionel Perez!

Hmmm...Giant SHELLdon wonders...2.5 up in the standings on the next best team. +20 points on the next highest team. Some how drops to fourth. It's okay though, we get it. Need some bulletin board material for the stretch run.

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

The biggest thing is that 75% of the formula is based on the entire season. The other 25% is based on the last two scoring periods, breaking it down across each individual stat categories. So 20 numbers, the "Sea" and the "Wee" in each category.

The Turtles Wees, accounting for 25% of their score include 4 categories that are in the bottom third of the entire league, 4 that are in the middle third, and only 2 in the upper third. And the Turtle Seas have 1 in the bottom third, 2 in the middle third, and 7 in the upper third.

The Squirrel Wees have 0 in the bottom third, 2 in the middle third, and 8 in the upper third. Their Seas have 0 in the bottom third, 2 in the middle third, and 8 in the upper third.

The Thunderbird Wees have 0 in the bottom third, 4 in the middle, and 6 in the upper third. Their Seas have 0 in the bottom third, 2 in the middle third, and 8 in the upper third.

The Bison Wees have 2 in the bottom third, 1 in the middle third, and 7 in the upper third. Their Seas have 2 in the bottom third, 1 in the middle third, and 7 in the upper third.

So really, the Turtles have dropped because they've been in the middle to lower part of the pack in most categories over the last two weeks, and had a Kings team on the downswing and a Lumberjacks team that hasn't had their owner look at their team since July 6th during that time.

Wee Sea why it could be confusing for others. Some people forget we are flying squirrels (canonically), and that is how Oakland was able to get to that elevation so efficiently.... some of our players also throw balls good.

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

Another week, another set of Power Rankings! Retaining the top spot are the Oakland Squirrels. Retaining the last spot are the Milwaukee Muskies. Two teams moved up five spots this week, the biggest risers, the Houston Bats and the Vancouver Lumberjacks. Dropping the most were the Montreal Saints, who dropped eight spots!

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

Welcome, one and all, to the biggest event game of the year, and indeed, the biggest event game of all time. The Las Vegas Atoms and Oklahoma City Bison would like to welcome you to the Sedan Crater here in the Nevada Test Site for the inaugural Fields of the Future Game, featuring the first-ever baseball stadium built entirely within a thermonuclear crater. The field, and the many other attractions in Crateropolis, will be broken down at the end of the week in order to return the crater to its original state, so enjoy it while you can! As for the game itself, it should be a good one, with both teams holding onto second place in their respective leagues, and both teams working on multi-game winning streaks. The playoff stakes are high, and the radioactivity levels are low, so get ready for an explosive matchup. #UpAndAtom #WeAreOK

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

Welcome to this week's power rankings. It's a week I was looking forward to, and dreading, as the Oklahoma City Bison have claimed the top spot for the first time. For consistency's sake, the Milwaukee Muskies have remained in the 24th and last place spot. Your big riser is the Boston Masons on the back of a very good week. Your big fallers are a Canadian duo of the Toronto Talons and Vancouver Lumberjacks.

Re: AltLB Season - 2022

Good news everyone, we got out of the crater! And we did so with a big win. Now, your Oklahoma City Bison need a win or a Thunderbird loss to clinch a playoff spot, and we're heading to the City of Brotherly Love and, more importantly, the home of Danny DeVito. We look to lock up a playoff spot against the Keystones, and are going to do so looking good in our standard road uniforms, shown off this week by our rookie phenom infielder Vaughn Grissom!
