Colorado Cows: Homage to South Park plus alliteration
Seattle Sound: Not sure if it'll work with the Sounders irl, but I think a Grunge theme could be cool
Minnesota Moose: Big strong animal native to the state, plus alliteration
Chicago Bulldogs: Classic old school name that I think fits the city
Detroit Saints: Honoring the cities French heritage
Louisville Locomotives: The seal of Louisville had a Locomotive on it from 1861-1910

Denver Diamonds - Ski reference (black diamond and what not) think it would be unique to incorporate diamonds in the identity.
Louisville Slugs - I get sluggers is on here, but I think this league is going to be more experimental with names/design so I decided I want to see a slug logo. All the names submitted are pretty good so I don't expect this to win, but could you imagine?
Detroit Greasers - Was a name I used long ago in my first fictional soccer series and I love it.
Minneapolis Harlequins - Home to oldest sketch comedy theater in the USA.
Seattle Aeronauts - This one is for Boeing.
Chicago Pros - I think this gives an opportunity to use mob imagery without being on the nose, while connecting it to sports. Pros is a mix of the literal meaning of the word and the shortening of Prohibition, which was a time in history that mobs caused havoc in Chicago

Colorado Cowboys- This name goes along with the western/rodeo theme in Denver, and it would go well with the Bandits and Wranglers. Hmmm, I wonder who would pick them...cough...Jam...cough
Louisville Legends- Lots of Louisville's history is associated with some pretty legendary things, Muhammad Ali, Louisville Slugger bats, and Kentucky's history of success in basketball.
Detroit Cougars- This one might need a vibe check as it was previously the name of the Detroit Red Wings. I think it fits well with the classic names in Detroit, Tigers, and Lions.
Minnesota Galaxy- This was a rejected name for the Timberwolves, and it really works with the Northern Lights/North Stars theme in MN.
Seattle Summit- I know someone else already suggested this for Denver, but I feel that it fits better with Seattle and the Pacific Northwest with the evergreen trees and mountains in the area. This was also my Seattle suggestion for the AltFL.
Chicago Jokers- I took inspiration from the famous card game "Chicago." I feel this theme would be a lot of fun to work with as well, should it get picked.

I really like this name, but it might be too close to Galactics from the AltFL.

Colorado Cascades: Seems like a cool name that runs along with the Avalanche
Louisville Gorillas: Muhammed Ali's "Gorilla" comment about...George Foreman I think?
Detroit Mustangs: Brought to you by Ford.
St. Paul's Avengers: Sounds awesome and a little Biblical sh-t for giggles.
Washington Legends: All the myths around the PCW.
Illinois Illusions: Named after the many fronts the famous Chicago mobs had for their...uh, businesses....

The polls are in the works. I should be able to post them later tonight. You all have gotten the routine down. The names were flowing quickly.

Excellent, looking forward to this group! I think we have some really cool names and the branding potential is through the roof!

I under committed I actually was able to finish them up right now before cooking dinner. So for your voting pleasure...GROUP A of the AltBA. There were a few moments when I had to disqualify names but overall we did pretty well. Also remember to vote for ALL of the choices. Otherwise I have to go and weight the results and that is a pain. Thank you!
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
DENVER, COLORADO
DETROIT, MICHIGAN
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY
So go through and vote on each city BUT then start thinking about your GROUP B team names.

New Orleans - New Orleans Specters. New Orleans is famously haunted by plenty of ghosts.
Washington - Washington Blossoms. Cherry blossoms line the streets of the nation's capital.
Vancouver - Vancouver Ravens. Very simple, classic nickname for Vancouver.
Atlanta - Atlanta Firebirds. Atlanta is known for rising from the ashes after it was burned down.
Charlotte - Charlotte Greenbacks. Dollar bills are known as greenbacks, and Charlotte is home to massive banks and a former Mint.
Los Angeles - Los Angeles Golden Suns. LA is known for its sunshine, and California is the Golden State.
