1964 Kellogg Cup Super Series; Semi Finals
Cloquet Broncos vs Grand Forks Jets
Cloquet came out looking the faster team, getting more good looks in the opening period and taking a 2-1 lead heading into intermission. The second was slower, with neither team getting any real chances and the score staying 2-1 Broncos. Millen gave Cloquet a 2 goal cushion on a shot from the hash marks which proved to be the final goal of the game, sending Cloquet to the Kellogg Cup Final.
St. Paul Saints vs Roseau Stars
The Stars and Saints exchanged in a high scoring battle with both teams getting golden opportunities left and right. Roseau took an early lead, but the Saints tied it before the end of the first. The Stars notched a pair of goals in the second to lead 3-1 after 2. The Saints got one back, but Roseau responded, the same thing happened once more later in the period, leaving the score at 5-3 in favor of Roseau as the clock expired.

So I somehow managed to simulate and make graphics for the great eight and completely forget to post them... Better late than never I guess lol.
1964 Kellogg Cup Super Series; Great Eight
Cloquet Broncos vs Rochester Mustangs
Cloquet let the Mustangs know early on that they would need to capitalize on any chances they got, pinning Rochester in their own zone for most of the first, only allowing 2 shots against and leading 1-0 after 1. Millen would add two more for the Broncos before Rochester would finally get on the board. Both teams netted one more in the third to give us a final score of 4-2 in favor of Cloquet.
St. Paul Victorias vs Grand Forks Jets
The V's came out flying in their home arena, lighting the lamp twice in the first and looking very dominant. Things switched in the second though as the Jets turned the momentum in their favor and flipped the tide, tying the game before the second ended. The third was back and forth, but neither team could get anything in and overtime was needed. The Victorias had a good chance early on, but Grand Forks was quick on the breakout, getting an odd man rush the other way. The Jets were able to capitalize on the 3 on 1, passing across the crease to a teammate who just deflected it in to win and send the jets to the semi finals.
St. Paul Saints vs Thunder Bay Giants
St. Paul fell behind early on a bad pass in the defensive zone that was intercepted and converted on by Thunder Bay to give them an early lead. The Saints managed to finally tie things in the second and quickly built on their lead, adding two more before the period ended and one more in the third to win 4-1.
Roseau Stars vs Minneapolis Millers
The Stars seemed to just have the upper hand in this one, out shooting the Millers 31-19 and keeping the pressure applied all game long as they net three to give themselves a 3-0 victory to advance to the semi finals.

Unfortunately my new support for St. Paul didn’t push them to a championship! Can’t believe they would do that to me.

Every time you refer to the Victorias as the V's, I think of the Flying V...

Let's go Roseau!
They're gonna have some EXTRA motivation to have a dynasty at this time, where they could get the eyes of all North America on them...more on that after the 1964-65 regular season post comes.

1964 Kellogg Cup Super Series; Final
1st Period
CLO - 0
ROS - 1
Roseau got the scoring started midway through the first, capitalizing on a power play to take a 1-0 lead after 1.
2nd Period
CLO - 0
ROS - 2
Soosi lit the lamp early in the second to give Roseau a 2-0 lead. The Stars seemed to build off the momentum, completely dominating the second period, out shooting Cloquet 15-4 in the period.
3rd Period
CLO - 1
ROS - 4
Millen and the Broncos seemed to have a fire lit under them at the start of the third as they came out looking like a completely different team. Cloquet dominated the opening 5 minutes and it was only a matter of time until Brady Millen would break through to bring them back to within one. Roseau was unphased by the Cloquet attack, responding with a goal of their own only 37 seconds later to reclaim a 2 goal lead. With a minute left Cloquet pulled the goalie but lost control of the puck before he was completely off the ice. As the goalie raced back to the net, a Star fired a shot from the red line that beat the goalie to the open net, solidifying the win for Roseau. The final horn sounded and the Stars hopped the boards and swarmed their goalie, Roseau has won the 1964 Kellogg Cup, their second in franchise history!
Cloquet's Brady Millen was awarded the Tschida Trophy for his record breaking season and leading his team to the Kellogg Cup Final, this is Millens second time recieving this award.

Way to go Roseau! I have LOVED this team from the start, and I'm ready to see 'em make this a dynasty (As I said, with what is to come in the hockey world, this is the perfect time for them to do so)
