Maybe do a tier system instead of each team getting a hard number for submission
Tier 1 = up to three teams that receive 4 points each
Tier 2 = up to five teams that receive 3 points each
Tier 3 = Up to eight teams that receive 2 points each
Tier 4 = No cap on teams that receive 1 point each
No matter how you disperse the teams it can only add up to 20.

Retired Numbers
The Grand Rapids Moose have decided to retire both number 1 and 7. Number 1 was worn by 1953 Tschida Trophy winner Sam Baker nearly single handedly winning Grand Rapids' first Kellogg Cup. Baker was signed by the Cleveland Barons of the AHL where he played the remainder of his career. Number 7 of course was worn by "Mr. Moose" himself Didi Miller, two time Tschida Trophy winner, 5 time Iron Range Hockey League Champion, and Kellogg Cup Champion. Miller decided this offseason that he is done for good, having sat out all of the previous season with injury. Baker and Miller, two of the most iconic names in MAHL history now hang from the rafters at the IRA Civic Center in Grand Rapids.

The Blaine Spartans updated their uniforms, replacing the sleeve long stripe with a simple 3 stripe design.

Background: A lifelong hockey fan and an alumnus of the University of Manitoba, John has been covering the MAHL since he was in college. He has been covering the Winnipeg Monarchs since their inception, first for the Manitoban (the student newspaper at the University of Manitoba), and now for the Free Press. He is one of Canada's most dedicated sports journalists, having never missed a Monarchs game, home or away, in Canada or the United States, in their history - and this includes all four of their Super Series appearances.

East Grand Forks decided to completely overhaul their look, introducing a completely new logo and uniform set. The Pointers text is gone in favor of a new logo embracing the dog side of their name. The new logo is the head of a Pointer in a EGF's orange and blue. The shade of orange remains the same, but the blue is noticeably deeper.
As previously mentioned, the rebrand included new uniforms featuring the new shade of blue. Everything is new on these uniforms, including a bold pair of orange breezers.

The Eveleth Redbirds switched to a new uniform manufacturer this season and decided to make the switch from cream to white as it was cheaper than buying cream fabric. The Reds updated their logos to use their new color scheme of Cardinal and White.
The Birds made a couple tweaks to their timeless uniforms; making the collars red, adding laces, moving up the hem stripe on the road uniform, white stripe on breezers, and 7 stars behind the collar which represent their 7 Kellogg Cups.
