Also, I think Baltimore could lend itself to a college named after a person.

I saw a section on the museum's website called "Fueling the Automotive age" and I'd like to propose the name "Oilers" as Amoco and Crown-Central petroleum companies are based in Baltimore

I definitely had the same thought. I was looking at Cecil Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore, after whom the city was named, but I'm not sure why you would name a school after him in the 20th century. (Side note: it's a real shame we can't be the Baltimore Barons. That sounds dope as h*ck.) The only other notable person from Baltimore I can think of is Edgar Allan Poe, and all things considered, I'm not sure he makes sense, especially considering that poetry isn't really an industry.

Yeah, I liked that as an option, I just don't know that I like Oilers as the name. Don't know why, but maybe it has something to do with two professional sports teams using the name and so it doesn't seem college to me? Not sure what else to do though.

Calvert College sounds so good, too. If we don't want to do that, what about just Baltimore University? Or Chesapeake College after the bay?
I think Fishers is the best industry tied to the area. And I think we could build a solid identity around a fish hook logo.

I like Chesapeake, especially if we do something related to water. I do think Baltimore U or U of Baltimore is a solid option too if we want to go that route.

I really like Chesapeake College. It has some potential for fishing names. I take back my oilers statement from before.

If we're doing something fishing related, we could do Captains, as in the boat captain.

I like Captains, especially if we can find a particular captain to name the school after. I do think I like Crabbers/Crab Fishers a bit better, just because Captains seems awfully generic, but it would certainly fit. Another option is that back when we did the college project on the CCSLC, my school was the Delmarva Anglers, so maybe that's another angle we could take?
... I'll see myself out

Since we're an older school, we could do Fishers, and use the cat animal dressed as an fisherman as an old school logo, since the wild cat was prevalent in Maryland.

I was looking at neighborhoods again (Baltimore has a lot!) and Canton caught my eye. It's a historic neighborhood, it's right on the harbor, and it would work with either Crabs/Crabbers/Crab Fishers or Captains (it was even home to the original USS Constellation for a while). I know we already have a lot of options, but I think I might be leaning towards the Canton Crabbers as the direction we take.
