Re: NFL-PCFL Simulation

1992 NFL Season

Eastern Conference
In the Atlantic Division in 1992, the Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins once again sat atop the division. With a division title to defend, the Redskins felt confident in returning to playoff form. The Dolphins, who had a poor season in 1991, rebounded and would finish 11-3. In second, the Redskins posted a 9-5 record, which, while respectable, placed them out of the playoffs. In third, the Bay State Patriots were 5-9, and in last the Indianapolis Colts, finished 3-11, winning only the right to the second draft pick overall in 1993. With the end of regular season play, a week 7 game between the Dolphins and Eagles, which had been a loss in Philadelphia, was highlighted as the tie breaker between the Dolphins and the Eagles, as both finished 11-3. As such, the Miami Dolphins went on the road to Philadelphia for the Eastern Conference Final.

In the North Division, the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, won their third straight division title, posting, as previously mentioned, an 11-3 record. In second, the Pittsburgh Steelers finished 8-6, falling behind the Eagles early in the season. In third, the Cleveland Browns, several years removed from an NFL Title, posted a 6-8 record and just ahead of the last place New York Giants. Phil Simms, who had returned as starting quarterback after Hostetler flopped, had a bad season, finishing 4-10. Many assumed he would be gone next season, though the Giants made clear they would retain him until his contract expired after the 1993 season. With the end of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles returned to the Eastern Final for the third time in as many years, preparing for a rematch of the week 7 victory against the Dolphins.

In the 1992 Eastern Conference Final, the Miami Dolphins travelled to Philadelphia on a cold winter day, where the Eagles, who had been to two NFL Titles in the last two seasons, were the favorites to win, though it never made sense to count the Dan Marino offense out. In week 7, the score had been 20-10, and the Eagles looked to win the second match against the Dolphins as they had the first. The trouble for the Dolphins was in their lack of a crack defensive squad, while the Eagles had plenty on both sides of the ball. By the end of the third quarter, the Dolphins were losing 21-16, though a fourth quarter field goal made the game a 2 point affair. With Randall Cunningham, who had been injured during the 1991 NFL Title season, at the helm, the Eagles made a quick couple of plays to run the length of the field and score a touchdown. By the time the clock expired, the Philadelphia Eagles had won the game, 28-19, and the Miami Dolphins had been defeated.

Western Conference
In the Central Division, the season was a barn burner from the start, with the Minnesota Vikings facing off against the Detroit Lions. By season end, a week 13 matchup between the Vikings and Lions, was highlighted. The game was close, and ended with a Viking victory at home, 10-7. At the season end, the Vikings finished 9-5, to Detroits 8-6. In third place, the Green Bay Packers posted a 4-10 record, ahead of the last place, 2-12, Chicago Bears, who had the first pick in the 1993 draft. With the season over, the Vikings went on the road to the Astrodome to compete for an NFL Title.

In the South Division, early on in the season, it looked like the Dallas Texans would at last be returning to playoff from, but alas, it was not to be. The Houston Oilers, for the third time in as many years, won the South Division title, posting a 12-2 record, the best of any team in the regular season in 1992. In second, the Texans finished 8-6, while just behind them were the third place New Orleans Saints with a 7-7 record. In last place were the Atlanta Falcons finishing 5-9. With the end of the season, the Houston Oilers were on their way to another Western Conference Final.

In the Western Conference Final, the Houston Oilers were back, and hosting the Minnesota Vikings in the Astrodome. Though the Vikings scored first, a field goal, it would their last points of the afternoon. Under the lights of the dome, the Houston Oilers, led by Warren Moon, connected with the receivers on five touchdowns and by the two minute warning if the second half, the score was 35-3. Going once more down the field, the Oilers settled for a field goal as time expired, finishing the game 38-3. With the victory, they won the right to host the 1992 NFL Title

1992 NFL Title
The 1992 NFL Title, was a replay of the 1990 NFL Title, with the Houston Oilers hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. In the regular season, the Oilers beat the Eagles in Philadelphia, by a field goal, with a final score of 24-21. With such a good regular season matchup, fans were expecting a close game, and for most of the game they had that. At half time the score was 17-13, with the Eagles receiving the ball at the start of the second half. However, Randall Cunningham was stymied, and would go scoreless for the rest of the game. By games end, the Houston Oilers had won their third NFL Title, and the second of under the leadership of Warren Moon.

1992 PCFL Season
The 1992 PCFL season was marked by a milestone. The San Francisco 49ers, led by quarterback Steve Young, finished the regular season with a perfect record, the first in the 12 game era (1976-2016). At 12-0, the San Francisco 49ers won the right to host the 1992 Pacific Bowl. With their perfect season, the 49ers made it their ninth straight year with a Pacific Bowl appearance. (As of 1992, the record in those titles was 5-3). In second, the San Diego Chargers finished 7-4-1, including one close loss to the 49ers, and won the right to host the PCFL Playoff.. In third, the Los Angeles Raiders, at 6-6, were led to the playoffs by recent addition, and quarterback, Todd Marinovich. Marinovich was supposedly bred for the purpose of football, and was considered a good start as a rookie. In fourth, the Phoenix Cardinals, also finished 6-6, splitting the record season with Raiders, who won out on tiebreakers. In fifth, just falling behind the Raiders and Cardinals, were the 5-7 Denver Broncos, and just behind them the 4-8 Seattle Seahawks. In last place, the Los Angeles Rams posted a 2-9-1 record.

In the 1992 PCFL Playoff, the Los Angeles Raiders travelled to San Diego to play the Chargers. Though considered a close matchup, it would not be proven. The San Diego Chargers jumped ahead early, 21-3. The Raiders were able to stop the Chargers twice, and then score, to bring the score to 21-13. After the half, the Raiders, who were kicking, attempted an onside kick, which was scooped up by the Chargers, who were given great field position, which led to an easy score, to make he score 28-13. Sometime in the fourth quarter, the Chargers scored a field goal to make the score 31-13, which ended the game with a Chargers win.

In the 1992 Pacific Bowl, the San Diego Chargers traveled to Candlestick Park to play the perfect San Francisco 49ers. In the regular season, the 49ers had beaten the Chargers twice. In week 4, a close game in San Diego ended in overtime with a 49ers field goal, that left the score, 23-20. In week 12, the rematch was played in San Francisco, where the 49ers routed the Chargers, finishing the game, 24-9. As such, when the Pacific Bowl was set, many fans thought this would be the first time the Chargers would defeat the 49ers in the Pacific Bowl. (They lost the 1960, 1961, 1965, 1981 and 1990 Pacific Bowl's to the Chargers). The game would be very close, but in the end, it came down to a last minute field goal, as the score was tied 21-21 at the two minute warning. With a late field goal, the Chargers put themselves ahead of the 49ers, and never looked back. As such, it made San Diego's seventh league title, and sixth title win against the San Francisco 49ers.

Re: NFL-PCFL Simulation

1993 NFL Season

Eastern Conference
In the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, in 1993, the season was affected by a major trade during the NFL Draft. With time expiring in New York City, the Bay State Patriots traded up from sixth, to first, by giving the team with the first pick, the Chicago Bears, the first round pick, two second round picks in two successive years and the 1993 third round pick. With this settled, the Bay State Patriots drafted quarterback Drew Bledsoe first overall. As such much was expected from the rookie, and he did not disappoint. By seasons end, the Patriots had ran away with the division, finishing 10-4. To put this in perspective, the Miami Dolphins, the second place team, posted a 5-9 record. In third, the Washington Redskins also finished 5-9, and in last, the Indianapolis Colts would post a 3-11 record. With the end of the season, the Patriots would travel to New Jersey for the Eastern Conference Final.

In the North Division, the New York Giants finished first after a tight race for the division title. At 11-3, they won the right to host the Eastern Conference Final, finishing ahead of the 10-4 Pittsburgh Steelers and the third place Cleveland Browns, who ended the season at 9-5. In last place, the Philadelphia Eagles posted a losing season for the first time in several seasons and sank to the bottom of the division early on.

In the 1993 Eastern Conference Final, the New York Giants hosted the Bay State Patriots, in a game hyped as a battle of the quarterbacks, (New York's Phil Simms and Bay State's Drew Bledsoe) and was predicted to be a good game. In the regular season, the Giants beat the Patriots 27-23 in Foxboro, where the rookie Drew Bledsoe looked fantastic. However when the whistles blew and the game started it was clear that Phil Simms was a veteran and the Patriots would be out classed. Six sacks on Bledsoe during the game stifled the offense, and the Giants showed no signs of age, winning the game 28-3. With the victory, the Giants won the right to host the 1993 NFL Title, and would play the Houston Oilers for their first NFL title since 1963.

Western Conference
In the 1993 season, the Central Division was seen as the weakest in the league. The Green Bay Packers finished in first aided by their new quarterback, Brett Favre. Finishing at 8-6, they outplayed the second place Chicago Bears, who at 7-7, missed out on an NFL postseason. In third, the Detroit Lions posted a 5-9 record, and the last place Minnesota Vikings went 3-11. With the division title, the Green Bay Packers won the right to travel to Houston to face the Oilers, a rematch of the 1991 Western Conference Final.

In the South Division, the Houston Oilers were challenged for the title with their in state rival, the Dallas Texans. While the Oilers finished 11-3 the Texans were right behind finishing 10-4. During the regular season, the Texans were beaten twice, never close, so if it ever came to a tie breaker, the Oilers would win out. In third and fourth place, the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints finished 6-8. With the division title, the Houston Oilers won the right to host their fourth straight Western Conference Final.

In the 1993 Western Conference Final, the Houston Oilers hosted the Green Bay Packers. The Oilers, led by Warren Moon, were seeking to win their third title in four seasons, and were expected to win another NFL Title. The Packers, led by young quarterback Brett Favre, were unable to defeat the Oilers when they met in week 13, with Oilers winning 38-3 in Green Bay. As such, many expected a similar game. Unfortunately for the fans who attended, the game saw no touchdowns all game, with the Oilers winning 9-3. With the victory, the Houston Oilers won the right to defend their NFL Title.

1993 NFL Title
In the 1993 NFL Title, a cold wind permeated Giants Stadium, where the New York Giants were hosting the Houston Oilers. The two had not met in the regular season, and as such no one was quite sure how the game would go. The Giants, though the home team, was not known for high powered offense, but made up for that lack with a punishing defense, led by the fierce Lawrence Taylor, who was playing in his last season (the same could be said for their quarterback Phil Simms who retired as well after the season) in the NFL. The Oilers on the other hand were known for their offense, while not having a very well known defense. There was also the point that the Oilers were used to playing in either a dome, or in southern markets. With the game kicking off, the field was blanketed with a light dusting of snow, and no one would know how the game would go.

In the beginning, the Giants kicked the ball off, and placed the ball at the Oilers five yard line. On third and seven, Warren Moon dropped back for a pass, and was sacked in the end zone for a safety, leaving the Giants in first at 2-0. In the second quarter, Oilers running back, Gary Brown, pounded into the end zone from the third yard line and place the Oilers ahead, 7-2. In the second half, there was little scoring, but with three minutes on the clock, the Giants went for it on fourth down and twelve and ended up scoring a touchdown several plays later to make the score 9-7. With two minutes left, the Giants were looking more and more like champions. With the snow coming down and the Oilers dressed in white, the Giants were comfortable with their lead. When the Oilers got the ball, they drove down the field, and with several seconds left scored a passing touchdown to Webster Slaughter to get the go ahead score to win their third title in four seasons.

1993 PCFL Season
In the 1993 PCFL season, the San Francisco 49ers, who had finished the regular season at 12-0, had lost in the Pacific Bowl to the Chargers and were expected to be back in the Pacific Bowl. This would happen, but not at Candlestick. The team to watch in 1993 was the Denver Broncos. Finishing in first, and posting a 10-2 record. They started out 1-1, they would not lose again until week 13, where they lost to the hometown Los Angeles Raiders, 25-3. In second, the San Francisco 49ers, finished 7-5, just ahead of the third place Los Angeles Raiders, who also finished 7-5. Just behind them came the 6-6 Seattle Seahawks, and just behind them the fifth place San Diego Chargers at 5-7. In sixth, the Los Angeles Rams, finished 4-8 and in last the Phoenix Cardinals limped to the barn at 2-10.

In the 1993 PCFL Playoff, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the Los Angeles Raiders. In the regular season, the teams split their matchups, but the 49ers won out on tiebreakers. At Candlestick Park the 49ers lit up the scoreboard against a Raiders team that seemed unable to do much against the onslaught. The game would finish 35-14, and send the 49ers to yet another Pacific Bowl, this time headed to Denver to play the Broncos. In the 1993 Pacific Bowl, the Denver Broncos hosted the San Francisco 49ers. In the regular season, the two teams split their matchups, but the Broncos were ready for a victory. The last time they had hosted a Pacific Bowl was 1969, and that game ended in a 44-7 drubbing at the hands of the Oakland Raiders. As such the local fans were chomping at the bit and though the game was close, the 49ers floundered in the end, and the Broncos won their second title, 29-20.

Re: NFL-PCFL Simulation

1994 NFL Season

Eastern Conference
In the Atlantic Division in 1994, the Bay State Patriots failed to reprise their past success, finishing in last in division, with a 3-11 record. In first, were the Miami Dolphins, who only made it to 7-7, and even then, they had to overcome a late charge by the Indianapolis Colts, who ended the season at 6-8. In third place, the Washington Redskins posted a 5-9 record, only two games from a division title. In the end, the Miami Dolphins would win the division, and won the right to travel to Cleveland to battle for the Eastern Conference Final.

In the North Division, the Cleveland Browns annihilated their opponents all season long, finishing the season at 13-1, their loss coming in a week three match with the Washington Redskins. In second, were the Pittsburgh Steelers at 11-3 and in third the 9-5 Philadelphia Eagles. The defending Eastern Conference champion Giants played poorly, finishing at 9-5. To be fair though, the Giants had lost both QB Phil Simms and OLB Lawrence Taylor, and had essentially been decapitated by the end of the season.

In the 1994 Eastern Conference Final, the Cleveland Browns hosted the Miami Dolphins. Given the disparate records, many could have chalked this up as a blowout. The facts show this as false. The snow began to fall at the start of the the first quarter, and soon it was falling steadily. The away team Dolphins refused to lie down and fought hard in the soon to be frozen match. At the end of the third quarter, the Browns were down 11-7, the result of several close field goals and one crushing safety. Quarterback Vinny Testaverde of the Browns managed to drive down the field, and after getting the team to five yard line, called a run play that left the score, Cleveland 14, Miami 11. With this victory, the Cleveland Browns won not only the right to compete for an NFL Title, but also the right to host the NFL Title as well.

Western Conference
There was one major moment that occurred before the season that would be of great importance to the season. After talks for a contract extension for Warren Moon with the Oilers fell through, the owners of the Minnesota Vikings pounced on the opportunity and signed Warren Moon to a four year contract. As such when the season began for the Central Division, many were crowning the Vikings before a game had been played. Even with the new scoring potential with Moon at the helm, the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions fought hard all season to attempt to close the gap. This would not occur, with the Vikings finishing 11-3, the Packers finishing 10-4 and the Detroit Lions finishing 9-5. In last the Chicago Bears finished 3-11. As a result, the Minnesota Vikings won the right to compete for, and host, the Western Conference Final.

While the Central Division was a close race it was fought with success. In a way the race for the South Division was equally close, but there was a major difference, the 1994 South Division, is arguably the worst division in NFL history. The first place Houston Oilers, led by Bucky Richardson, finished the season in first, but with only a 6-8 record. Both the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Texans were in the running as well, finishing at 5-9, only one game behind the first place Oilers. In last place, the New Orleans Saints were only two games out, posting a 4-10 record.

In the Western Conference Final, the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Houston Oilers. Warren Moon, who had won three NFL Titles since 1990, was now leading the Minnesota Vikings and playing his former team. Leading the Oilers was Bucky Richardson, whose determination had earned him the nickname Plucky Richardson. At half time, the two teams were tied at 10-10, and some Oilers fans liked their chances. Instead the Vikings scored two touchdowns (one on defense, one on offense) and blanked the Oilers in the second half. As a result, the Minnesota Vikings won the right to compete for an NFL Title, traveling to Cleveland for a rematch of the 1989 NFL Title.

1994 NFL Title
In the 1994 NFL Title, the Cleveland Browns hosted the Minnesota Vikings. Th two had not met all season, and many saw the Vikings, led by Warren Moon, as the better team, with some real veterans behind them. The Browns faithful flooded the stadium, with a sea of orange and brown hiding small islands of purple. And from the start of the game, the Browns seemed to be in their element. At halftime, the score was a close 20-14, but as the wind started kicking up it became less close game and more of a rout. At the end, the Cleveland Browns won the game, 36-17, winning their fifth, and last, NFL Title.

1994 PCFL Season
In the 1994 PCFL season, the San Francisco 49ers went 9-3, once again qualifying for the Pacific Bowl. In second, were the "Cardiac Cards" born again, who also ended the season at 9-3 and won the right to host the PCFL Playoff. Their opponents were the third place San Diego Chargers, who finished 8-4. In fourth and fifth were the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks, who both finished at 7-5. And in sixth were the Los Angeles Raiders at 3-9, and in last the defending league champion Denver Broncos, who posted a 1-11 record.

In the 1994 PCFL Playoff, the San Diego Chargers traveled to the Sun Devil Stadium to battle for a trip to San Francisco. In week five, the Chargers beat the Cardinals, 20-16, while in week 12, the Cardinals won 23-9, so predictions were mixed. In the end, the Chargers ran away with it, winning 36-17. Traveling to San Francisco, the 49ers and Chargers were set to play in another title together. While reports were mixed, the Chargers were able to win on the road again, winning the Pacific Bowl title, 20-16.

Re: NFL-PCFL Simulation

1995 NFL Season

Before the start of the 1993 season, the NFL began to accept s expansion bids, with plans to expand to 18 teams for the 1995 season. Initially Saint Louis was seen as a natural fit. After being abandoned by the Cardinals, Saint Louis had remained deprived of professional football. To win the support of a NFL team, the city began building a new domed stadium with hopes of attracting the NFL to the Gateway to the West. Saint Louis was initially declared a frontrunner, until the PCFL, who had held Saint Louis from 1960 to 1987, objected on the grounds that Missouri was in the PCFL's territory. In the end, the PCFL promised to put a team in Saint Louis (either through expansion or relocation) by 1997.

The two markets chosen for the 1995 season, revealed before the 1994 season, were to be the Baltimore Bombers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Baltimore had hosted the Colts from 1953 to 1983, and with a promise of a new stadium (currently named MT&T Bank Stadium) were considered an easy pick. While they would be returning NFL football to the Charm City, they would be bringing to a new market as well, the Tampa Bay Area. Initially the Buccaneers would play at the aging Tampa Stadium, built in 1967 with hopes of attracting an NFL team. The stadiums most popular tenants were the USFL's Tampa Bay Bandits, whose success attracted the NFL to the market. There was also another new stadium in the running, what would become Raymond James Stadium, and the new team would predate the MLB's Tampa Bay Devil Rays to the market by three years.

With the two teams joining the league, there was a plan to realign the league. For one, the each conference would have nine teams, five in one division, and four in the second. As both expansion teams were in the east of the country, it made sense for them to join the Atlantic Division. To accommodate the realignment, the Indianapolis Colts were relocated to the Western Conference Central Division. With the expansion, the season was extended from fourteen games, to sixteen games. With this would come the expansion of the playoffs, with the second seed playing a third seeded wild card, for a chance to play in the first seed Eastern Conference Final.

Eastern Conference

In the 1995 Atlantic Division, the Miami Dolphins dominated, posting a 10-6 record, where as the rest of the division had losing seasons. The expansion Baltimore Bombers, led by the rookie quarterback Kerry Collins, were on the brink of a 500 season only to lose a game in the last week to Philadelphia. In any past season this would not have been very important, but with the advent of the Eastern Conference Playoff, the team with the best record outside of a division champion would earn the right to play for a NFL Title appearance. As such even though the Bombers finished 7-9, the loss allowed the Eagles to finish 8-8, which won them a trip to the playoffs. In third, the Washington Redskins finished 6-10, while the fourth place Bay State Patriots posted a 5-11 record. In last place in the Atlantic, were the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who at 5-11, looked promising.

In the North Division, unaltered from the last season, saw the utter dominance of the Pittsburgh Steelers. At 13-3, they were the best in the Eastern Conference, and as such won the right to a first round bye, and to host the 1995 Eastern Conference Final. In second were the 8-8 Philadelphia Eagles, who just squeaked into the playoffs, and in third, New York Giants were also in the playoff race, but were damned by a 17-17 tie with the Browns, ending the season at 7-8-1. In last, the defending champion Cleveland Browns tripped early on, and never righted themselves, finishing at 5-10-1.

In the inaugural Eastern Conference Playoff, the Miami Dolphins hosted the Philadelphia Eagles. While they played in different divisions, they had tangled in several prominent Eastern Conference Finals and as such had a substantial rivalry. In their regular season bout, the Dolphins had beaten the Eagles in a close matchup in Miami. The final score, 26-23, ended with bad feelings on both sides, and such the rematch was highly touted. When the time came to play, both teams gave their all, with a 17-17 tie with 30 seconds left in the game. The Eagles, with Rodney Peete at the helm, threw a Hail Mary pass on fourth down, that resulted in a game winning touchdown.

In the 1995 Eastern Conference Final, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Philadelphia Eagles. The two teams not only shared a state, they also shared a division, and played two games against each other since at least 1960. In the regular season, the Steelers swept the Eagles, and as such many saw the game as far outmatched. However, though the Steelers won, they would have to fight for it, winning the game 20-14. With the win, and the results of the Western Conference title, the Steelers won the right to host the 1995 NFL Title.

Western Conference

In the Central Division, the arrival of the Indianapolis Colts was met with mixed reviews. While the Colts would occasionally Central Division teams throughout its history, they had never adopted rivalries with any of the teams. With Warren Moon once again leading the charge, the Minnesota Vikings crushed to a 11-5 record and first place in the division. In the second, the newcomer Colts finished at 8-8, one game ahead of the third place Green Bay Packers, who finished at 7-9. The last two spots were reserved for the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, who ended the season with 5-11 records. With the division title, the Minnesota Vikings won the right to host the inaugural Western Conference Playoff, against the Houston Oilers.

In the South Division, the hegemony of the Houston Oilers finally seemed at an end. In their place, first place would now be then Dallas Texans, looking to win their first title since 1969. With a 13-3 record, the Texans won the right to host the Western Conference Final, and potentially an NFL Title as well. In second, the Houston Oilers battled with both the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints, to attempt to secure a playoff spot. In Houston, "Plucky" Bucky Richardson, was gone, replaced by Chris Chandler and in Atlanta, Jeff George held the reins. Though they would both finish 10-6, the Oilers won on tiebreakers and won the right to contest the first Western Conference Playoff.

In the 1995 Western Conference Playoff, the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Houston Oilers. In their regular season matchup, the Vikings outscored the Oilers by two touchdowns, and won the game for Minnesota, in front of an angry home town crowd in the Astrodome. Coming off this game, the Oilers went onto win several more and won the Oilers a playoff berth. As such, going into the game, many knew it to be a grudge match. Having lost Moon to Minnesota, the Oilers were incensed that he might win a title without them, and Chris Chandler went for a respectable game, winning the game 30-14.

In the 1995 Western Conference Final, the Dallas Texans hosted the Houston Oilers. As expansion rivals, and inter state rivals, the Texans-Oilers feud was among the most heated in the league. However, with the previous alignment, they had never played each other in a post season game. In the regular season, the Texans won both games, adding to their already impressive regular season record. As such, the Texans were favorites to win, and many thought the teams eighth NFL title was just around the corner. The Oilers were there to end this fantasy, beating the Texans in front of hometown Dallas fans, 19-11.

1995 NFL Title
In the 1995 NFL Title, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Houston Oilers, in Pittsburgh's first host since 1984. The Oilers, who were fresh from their three title run, saw the future as bright, and didn't hold the Steelers to the same respect they had for their hated rival Dallas. To the Oilers fans who made the trip to Pittsburgh, the upset made sense, why would the tried Oilers not beat a relative upstart? The Steelers were happy to dissuade the Oilers of this, forcing a long drawn out game. With less than two minutes left in the game, the Steelers scored a touchdown, and soon enough hoisted the NFL Title trophy for their franchises fifth NFL Title.

1995 PCFL Season
Shortly after the end of the 1994 NFL season, Los Angeles was officially no longer a football city. The Rams, led by their owner Georgia Frontiere, declared their intent to leave Anaheim, California, to Saint Louis, Missouri. The brand new domed stadium ready for the 1995 season, was to be their brand new home. Then, shortly afterward, the Los Angeles Raiders declared their intent to relocate back to Oakland. Instead of a new stadium, the city of Oakland chose to renovate the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, to host both baseball (for the MLB'S Oakland A's) and football. As such, the city of Los Angeles, which had been shared by two teams for thirteen seasons, was now empty. It would be many years for professional football to return.

In first place in the league, the San Francisco 49ers edged out the Denver Broncos, as both finished 8-4. In third place, the recently transplanted Saint Louis Rams posted a 7-5 record. Behind the playoff teams, were the fourth and fifth place Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers, who both finished at 6-6. In sixth place, the returned Oakland Raiders went 4-8, while in last, the Arizona Cardinals posted a 2-10 record.

In the 1995 PCFL Playoff, the Denver Broncos hosted the Saint Louis Rams. In week two of the regular season, the Broncos hosted and beat the Rams, 27-14, while in the week seven rematch, the hometown Rams won 29-16, so many would think the game would be a tough choice. Eventually, the Broncos won the game 16-7, and earned the right to travel to San Francisco for the Pacific Bowl. In the 1995 Pacific Bowl, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the Denver Broncos. Not much can be said besides the fact that the San Francisco 49ers dominated, beating the Broncos, 20-6.

My New York Giants going 0-15-1? Have they essentially become this timeline's version of the Detroit Lions?

Im a Giants fan too, and this was a bad season, considering the tie came against the second year Buccaneers. But I thought I would list the current teams in each league with a 0 win season (as of 1996)

NFL
1965 Houston Oilers- 0-14
1978 Baltimore Colts- 0-14
1980 New Orleans Saints- 0-14
1996 New York Giants- 0-15-1

PCFL
1966 Denver Broncos- 0-10
1968 Denver Broncos- 0-10
1972 Saint Louis Cardinals- 0-10
1974 San Diego Chargers: 0-10
