Kansas City - Explorers. Apparently Lewis and Clark stopped at the current location of the city and noted its potential for a fort.
Los Angeles - Links. LA was home to the birth of the Internet in 1969 when a transmission was sent from UCLA to SRI in Stanford. This name connects (heh) the meaning of the name and also uses alliteration.
Louisville - Falls. The Falls of the Ohio basically halted settlement beyond it for a while and Louisville was right around that point, eventually leading to the nickname of "Falls City".
Miami - Cruisers. This one has a double meaning: both the cruise liners that frequently visit the city as well as the cruisers that the Navy use in battle.
Milwaukee - Schooners. This comes from the Milwaukee Bridge War, which got started after a schooner ran into one of the bridges connecting the two towns that eventually joined to become Milwaukee. (If this is out because of the Atlantic Schooners let me know and I'll replace it.)
Minneapolis - Minnesota Blades. Minneapolis was where rollerblading got its start and this also serves as a sly reference to the area's hockey history.

Hollywood Blockbusters (this team plans to be as much a powerhouse on the field as these films are at the box office!
Kansas City Express (homage to the Pony Express and the Hannibal & St. Joseph Railroad)
Kentucky Cutthroats (named after the fish found in the state which is part of Southern culture, also can describe the team's aggressive nature)
Miami Neon (references the bright lights of the city)
Milwaukee Machine (home of Harley-Davidson, Milwaukee Machinetool Corporation, Briggs & Stratton and other companies)
Minnesota Bobcats (fits with other teams named after Northwoods wildlife)

I'm pretty sure this is an IceHL team, meaning we can't use it.

Kansas City Bulls: To honor the American Royal and the cattle drives that passed through Kansas
Los Angeles Sabers: For the nearby La Brea Tar Pits and the state fossil of California of the saber-toothed tigerÂ
Louisville Brawlers: Honoring Muhammad Ali, who was born here
Miami Marauders: For the pirates that raided the coasts of Florida
Milwaukee Stags: After Wisconsin's state animal, the white-tailed dear
Minnesota Voyageurs: For the Voyageurs that ventured down and settled in Minnesota

Kansas City - Masters - The train master is an integral part of successful train rides, and the rail industry in Kansas City is very prominent with big rail yards in the city. Plus, the BBQ scene calls experts Pit Masters, so it all adds up.
LA - Shooting Stars - The shooting stars are very bright, as bright as the stars of Hollywood in Los Angeles.
Louisville - Jockeys - The horses racing in the Kentucky Derby are driven by jockeys, so it all makes sense to name them after the pilots of the race.
Miami - Lights - The bright lights of buildings and signs in Miami, plus the very bright Vice era in the city brings a great idea to name it after a prominent feature with out directly naming them the Vice.
Milwaukee - Shredders - The rev of the chopper is a sign that a biker is gonna shred up the road, so it would be a nice idea to go with the bike theme.
Minnesota - Axemen - Paul Bunyan’s story is Minnesota legend, so let’s come up with a name that describes what he did as an occupation

Â
It is, I was very disappointed because I wanted it for a future team in the AltHL to use the name.
Also, Burmy, I was about to submit my Miami team name as the Neon as well. You beat me to it!

What a coincidence...I almost picked the Lights before deciding to go with the NeonÂ

Missouri Ozarks (for the Ozark Mountains in the Southwest part of the state)
Los Angeles Fame (not a lot of explanation necessary)
Louisville Roses (the Kentucky Derby is nicknamed "the run for the roses")
Cubanos de Miami (Miami has a large Cuban community, plus it gives the team a more authentic Cuban/Spanish feel)
Milwaukee Bangers (I know this probably sounds a little bit suggestive, but it's in reference to the 1982 Brewers, who had the nickname "Harvey's Wallbangers" thanks to their powerful batting lineup)
Minnesota Borealis (I was thinking Northern Lights, but thought that this would be a little more unique)
If you want me to change my suggestion for Milwaukee, I'll gladly do it.

Kansas City Bulls Barbecues!!
Los Angeles Vaqueros A Vaquero is the Mexican equivalent of a cowboy. I figured it would be a nice way to pay homage to LA’s Hispanic population.
Louisville Derbies A classic sounding name, and a nice homage to the Kentucky Derby.
Second Cubanos de Miami
Milwaukee Beers This is just me reusing a name I nominated for the proposed Milwaukee AltHL club that’s an homage to the sports movie BASEketball.
Minnesota Lumberjacks Use your thinking organ.
